Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Conny Ahoi on March 11, 2012 at 4:08pm: diannep hallo diannep .. i did that ... i even have some jrhigh kids writing him letters and the teachers sends one out every two days so he will get letters...also friends and from church youthgroup are writing ... i just chattet with a young lady from our town who graduated from bootcamp friday a week ago, she is still up there for A school and she also helps to COMFORT ME and gives me some input and telling me it will be okey ...

On the letter writing...remember...don't be shy...if your SR had fav teachers, coaches, neighbors, family friends who have had an influence in his/her life, feel free to give out your SR's address and ask if they might want to drop a note of encouragement. During bootcamp, the SRs learn to really appreciate those who have been helpful in their lives...even if they didn't realize it so much at the time. My son loved hearing from people like this who provided him with so much encouragement. So be sure to ask!

I plan on writing to that person to tell them I am proud of them too! I hope all of them get letters of encouragement!
