Great to see you on here, Jessica! Hope they get that computer back up and running ....permanently! We have missed you! :-)
My SR wrote in the info herself, but there were not any lines in the letter itself-I am going on the premise that they were told just to fill out the form and put it in the envelope, and not that she just didn't have anything to say to "dear old mom" LOL. I am looking forward to her first real letter though!!
On the form letters, they use to have about 4 lines in the letter that they could write a personal message. But my form letter is a couple of years old. So maybe they have changed the format? Also, back then, the SRs wrote in their address and PIR date in the letter. Do they still do that now?
No, Romisproudmom> Unfortunately, no SRs are at the MeetNGreets. You have to wait until PIR to see them. :-(
You will need to change your username if it contains your last name and it is the same as your SR. (SR = Seaman Recruit) Last names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on the N4M's site.
Even if it is not the same...then it is still recommended as this is a public forum and anyone can see it.
To change your username on here.
Just go to "Settings" which is in the list in the far right hand column of this page...under where you sign out of N4M's.
Your profile page will open.
Under "Profile" Username is the third item down.
Clear the info and type in your new username.
Once you do that make sure to click "save" at the bottom right of the page.
It may also be in your URL (Web Address...http://)
To change your URL if it also contains your real name.(It most likely will as it automatically enters the first username you use on here.)
See in the address bar at the top of the screen at the end of the "http" when you pull your page up that your name is at the end of the address?
To change that, again go to "Settings".
Once your profile page comes up go to the left and you will see a list of options.
Click "My Page". The third item down is "Address" .
In the box clear the info and type in whatever you want to be at the end of your URL. Your new username is the best idea.
Again click "Save".
Let me know if you need help!
I didn't see an area for my son to write anything. I got my letter yesterday and he didn't write anything. :( @ecortez-as for the meet and greet its for the parents who have bonded during their time of training.
is our SR present at the meet and greets?
Same goes for me...I was hoping he would have wrote something...since others had posted there was room or them to write a few words
I have hear from others that they got some sort of personal message on the back, but I did not get anything but the blanks filled out:(
