@ yondaj30 (ship 11 Div 134) : Thanks so much. That was so sweet.
@ blm(ship02/div924PIR4/27): Is your SR in 133 or 134? Can't recall.
do you know what really hurts, I am not the one who will bring my daughter's things to her, and found out at the last minute I am on the list. never got one phone call the whole time she was at rtc
yonda-thank you for the lovely prayer.
I stopped at church today and lite a blue candle under statue of St Michael(patron saint of the military) and said a prayer for all our young men and women.
Then i came home to a letter! She feels she is prepared for battlestations and confident her division will do well.
2 more days of work and then on to Chicago!!
I would like to wish my Navyformoms and DADS a safe trip... i know many of us will begin our drive on tomorrow and wed... please be careful and dont hesitate to pull over if you get tired... I look forwarded to meeting all of you very soon... To those of you who are flying... be patient and check your carry on so you wont get delayed...( i got delayed for a bottle of perfume)... I pray for us all...
God, you have given us feet to move, and a mind to imagine new things and places and people. You have made us to travel and explore your wonderful world. Thank you for this gift. Still, this world over which we move is wrought with dangers and threats. When we travel, we are vulnerable. Please protect our steps. Protect us on the road, and in the air. Send an angel of protection to accompany us. Shield us from evil and the Evil One who would use this opportunity to bring destruction. Bring us safely there and back home again. And while we’re gone, protect those we leave behind. Keep the peace and secure the boundaries of our home. Assign and angel of protection to stand guard over our property and our loved ones, our children, and our friends and family. Keep us healthy and guard us from sickness, injury, accident and violence. Give wisdom to those flying the airplane and driving the vehicles, and keep the machinery working properly. Moderate the weather on our travels. And even now, begin to prepare us and the places we will visit, so that we can meet you there. In fact, Lord, come with us. Join us on this journey and be our companion and guide and protector and provider. In Jesus we pray… AMEN
hendersonc: One of our family friends was on "hold" in Pensacola for a couple of months. This was back in 2009. Hoping that your daughter won't have to wait that long! :-)
Going through all the blogs for the A-school location my daughter will be going to after PIR...im seeing that everyone is starting A-school later due to delays/funds. Im guessing she will be in Pensacola longer then 5 wks.
Yes you have to have a gate pass. The code to the pass is on the Form Letter the SR sent wehn they arrived in Great Lakes. You have to go http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp to out the code in to print the pass out.
Ok... I need some help. I noticed others talking about the gate pass??? Do I have to have one for the Great Lakes PIR on 4/27 and if so where do I get mine. I will have 1 car with 3 total ppl. Not sure if I needed one for each person or for each car? Can someone direct me plz :)
@Lala - thanks so much for the information. I was so torn as to what I should pack.
This week you will all be hugging and kissing your Sailors! How exciting!
I posted a Discussion above (Pictures from TG-24) for sharing all those WONDERFUL Pics of your NEW SAILORS! It has tips on how to SAFELY share your facebook album, without having to add everyone who wants to see it to your friend's list! Love that new feature!
Here's a little something to hold you till Friday! Hope you see your SR!
