Good Sunday Morning everyone!  I just want to thank FTLW, DianneP, Lala, and everyone else for keeping me from falling to pieces these past 8 weeks and patiently answering the same questions over and over and over!  I feel like I will be a will-informed member of the Navy family fully understanding protocol on liberty, navigation around the base, and just overall Navy life.  It will be a buys week as I get ready to leave for PIR on Thurs, but I will be back to share my experience and pics and to provide support for some of the newbies that sound so lost like I did the first few weeks of boot camp!

Here is my most recent painting from the "Boot Camp" series....The next one you will likely see will have something to do with a giant door with marching boots.....this was my practice for that.

What is there to do in the area after PIR?  I know Great Adventure is close but that is taking a big chance with ruining the clean uniform.  Can we stay on base and shop.  Where is the best place to eat in the area?

Folks...since I am trying to catch up...did we get you a Captains Cup link? I know it has passed (can't wait to see who won!) but here it is:

Where should you sit during PIR? Here is some info that may help you decide :-) Dianne and I both agree the best seat is the highest row you can get in the lower section. If you sit in the balcony section the railing will be in your pictures. There will be a Sailor standing beside a DIV sign for each divisions section. To get the best possible view of your Sailor you will want to sit in that section. You may want to write to your Sailor and ask where they will be when they march in, 1st row next to last, right in the middle, front row carrying a flag etc. That way you can look for him/her. Some families never see their Sailor until after the ceremony and then later can pic them out on the DVD and some families watch the wrong Sailor the whole time lol. They all look so much alike. If they are in the performing division they won't march in like the other divisions. They will come from different places depending on what they are doing. There are a couple pictures below to show you the difference in sitting in the lower or upper section for taking pictures.

awe, thanks Jennifer, we all love it here. It is like our second home :-) I have really enjoyed getting to know so many of you in this group and have even had the privilege of talking to some of you on the phone. I guess my southern accent shines through just a little bit lol :-) You are all going to have a great time at PIR and we look forward to hearing all about your experiences.

It is hard to believe that soon we will be the veterans.  Without this site and all the wonderful people who shared, the journey would have been much more difficult.  Thank you all for all the help and encouragement you gave making  the trip so much better.

I agree with ALL of Jennifers comments.... I don't know what our family would have done without such a wonderful and supportive group of people.

jennifer:  You are very welcome.  Remember, all of you will be N4Moms veterans soon.  We welcome you to our team to then jump on the PIR sites and share info and your experiences!

Good morning all!
