Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I am enjoying myself in VA Beach with my Sailor. She works nights and last night we got to go to the base and watch her launch a jet. We met the pilot and a bunch of the squadron she works with. They are a great bunch of Sailors and so funny. It was awesome getting to see her at work. We got to take pictures but I don't know if they are allowed to be posted so I won't put them on here but here is one taken of her with one of the jets when she got honored and got her name on the jet. If any of you will have an Aviation Ordnanceman you have a lot to look forward to. They are a very close-nit group and I am so proud of my AO :-) IYAOYAS While we are here this week we are also going to see her ship The Harry S Truman and going to Colonial Williamsburg :-)

Comment by zStratMom on April 11, 2012 at 8:55am: @shinystuff - There's a nice little Italian place (look on Sarge's meet & greet info for the name, or have Sarge make the reservation and take you there). It's in Libertyville, the next little town up the road. Your Sailor will eat free, they have a broad mix of food options, and you get plenty to eat for modest prices. I had both my Sailors, and BOTH ate free.

Comment by shinystuff on April 11, 2012 at 8:18am: Wow, I don't know why I wasn't coming here to look! I've only been on the Boot Camp site and my SRs site for 11/133. There's a ton of info on here! It's been right in front of me for weeks...someone else asked about restaurants in the area around RTC. Does anyone know of any good places to eat? I don't think we want to travel into the city, we just want to spend some quality time together.
