I am so happy for you Katheeh..We only talked a few minutes but he said their were so many of the Div that want to call so he didn't want them to wait..He sounded so good. I did the same thing when I saw "847" I knew..Hope the other moms get to share the joy
I'm the happiest mom in the world!!! My SR called! He sounds so wonderful! He's had his wisdom teeth pulled and is a little under the weather so he's missed a few days. I was so taken aback when I looked at my cell phone and there was that "847" number that I couldn't think of all of the questions I've had in my mind. We only had a few minutes to talk and he was able to call his dad and talk for a few minutes too. Between Mom and Dad we got different information. To tell you the truth I wouldn't care if I didn't find out anything...just hearing his voice was all I needed.
Chocoholic: TimmysMama is absolutely correct. You should get Saturday time at the airport with her (the RDCs do not tell them this and if they are asked, they usually say that families can't come to the airport and wait with sailors....not true). So you will get Fri with her and some of Saturday, as long as you are willing to travel to the airport in the wee hours of the morning to meet her!
OMG my son call..Doing fine had dental work done..Div is working hard but no flag yet..some of the Sr's didn't pass the test..I guess that have worked out the problem Sr's and now are working hard toward their goal. He sounded upbeat..and said they know nothing about A-School..said that they are on week 3-1 I think and are getting their letters..I am a happy Mama
No calls or no new letter :(
How beautiful is that..I am crying you a RIVER!!
Three weeks have gone by
Since we told you goodbye
I hugged you so tight I didn’t want to let go
For the next time I would see you, it would be in Chicago
These eighteen years flew by
Right before my eyes
From crawling up and down the stairs in our Beaumont town home
You went to running Track and Cross Country and making choices of your own
From carrying your pillow everywhere with you
You went to driving Rhonda and pulling a trailer too
You started your own landscaping business at the age of sixteen
For Jersey Shore you traded Lion King
You went from a shy little boy that sat on mommas lap
To visiting new places on the United States Map
In a few short weeks is Boot Camp Graduation Day
We are so anxious and excited for this is such an important day
You will march in a sailor and leave the little boy behind
This is the beginning of your new military life
You will have many adventures to write home about
You will be very successful I don’t have any doubt
I want you to know how proud we are of you
Though you traded in your pillow for a camo suit in blue
You will always be my little boy
When the day comes that I see you marching in on Graduation Day
Tears again I may cry
They will not be of sadness but of great pride and joy
Because of the Sailor my little boy has become
For now I am truly a proud Navy mom
Loved the Cosby clip! I hadn't seen him in ages. Thanks for sharing.
