I can't remember where I saw the post about Teamwork, but someone posted it yesterday, or maybe this morning and it broke it down perfectly...If I can find it you can send it to him and he will feel encouraged that it will pass.....

I feel bad for 133, sounds like they're having a hard time....131 on the other hand sounds like pretty smooth sailing! Hooray! (except that I didn't get a letter yet)  Maybe tomorrow.

herndersonc:  I would call Public Service Office to ask if the birth certificates have to be certified copies or just copies.  They can tell you:  847-688-2405

jennifercrazyplace it sure is hard being alone isn't it?  My son is USSChicago.  I got a call today.On one hand I was thrilled.  On the other, I felt bad because he is so discouraged.  The unit keeps getting punished because some in the unit keep goofing off.  I tried to encourage him by explaining that it is all part of the process.

Hello shirleyblack52 again! I am trying to catch up on posts...LOL...so can't remember if I posted this or not. I think you said you will not be able to attend PIR?

For some resason I thought I answered it, but I bet I did it "in my head" when I was reading over the last two days!

So my a[pologies if this a repeat.

Here is something you can do for your recruit when you cannot attend PIR.

The MWR - Morale, Welfare and Recreation - site has a Recruit Care Package that you may purchase and have delivered to your new Sailor as a gift of Congratulations.

I will make a Page for it and provide the link.

Here is an exerpt from the MWR page about the care package:

"The care package** consists of a Commemorative Coin, a luggage tag, a portable Frisbee Flyer, an "I Survived Navy Boot Camp" pen, three Naval Station Great Lakes postcards, a movie pass (to the on-base theater (Ross Theater), a cookie, a candy bar and your personalized message including with an MWR Gold Card ("Discount & Reward" Card). All inside a Naval Station Great Lakes String Backpack!"

Not trying to "beat a dead horse" but just to send some comfort and back up diannep on the "division" asmo'd thing. This is a "motivational" threat sometimes. RTC puts this statement out in their Famly Guide:

"While a division’s graduation date will not change, an individual Recruit’s graduation date may change based on performance..."

shirleyblack52 - I have had a couple of moms that received their form letter very late...this was because their recruit did not address it properly(transpsed some numbers) and it was sent back to them...they then had to resend it to their family. Are you the only one that he would have sent it too?
