N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Lala,

What a cool-looking dog your Poochie is!  With a blue eye and a gold eye, he has "heterochromia iridum."  My Daina was always fascinated with horses that had 2 colored eyes--alot of Paints have that, so she told me what it was called. :)

Praying he will be fine and it's good to hear that the Copperhead's bite is not as bad as feared.  Thanks Diannep, for that bit of comfort!!

Good Morning, Friends~

Thansk so much for that info Diannep, that makes me feel better. Waiting and not know is killing me. He is the biggest lovebug in the world :) Such a great dog.

Comment by diannep on May 21, 2013 at 1:08pm

Thank goodness just read that Copperhead bites are almost never fatal to dogs (they are considered secondary venomous snakes) and the size of the dog matters.  Being a larger dog and the fact you got to him right away, praying that he will be well!  What a cutie!

Great idea Diannep :)

All of my animal loving friends please say a prayer for our Poochie, He was bitten by a Copperhead and is at the vet now. We are waiting to hear what they say. Thanks so much.

Just got word that Illinois is in Tornado watch through tomorrow. Praying for everyone that was effected by these storms & praying that our Boys out in Illinois are safe !!!

Comment by CrewMom on May 21, 2013 at 11:50am

Have been glued to the tv watching the devastation that hit Oklahoma.  Prayers go out to those affected by these storms.  I also saw that Illinois might be getting some tornadoes also?  Does anyone know if it is close to our recruits?

239NavyMom:  Sarge has not added his MeetandGreet for your PIR date to the Events Calendar yet but he will.  Then FTLW will update her MeetandGreet Discussion above with his link so you can get to his page from there to RSVP.

Ok, Lala and ellen:  Why not ask Navy Lodge what brand name those pillows are and order some for yourselves.....and your sailors????  OR....maybe one of these ladies who plan to say there can "snoop" when there and post the info on here after PIR!  :-)  A good pillow is worth its weight in GOLD!

Good Morning!

Good Morning everyone, I hope today is less stormy for everyone in the path of the tornadoes. My eyes filled with tears this morning watching the news about the school with the missing children. If you live anywhere near those areas keep your phone close by. Recruits are often allowed to make calls home to check on families in the path of devastation like this. We can't be sure they will call but keep your phone close by and maybe even put a message on it saying if this is "John" we are all fine and going to be very mad we missed your call please leave a message and let us know you are good as well and please try to call again or call "grandma/dad/aunt" etc. Or you could leave a different number for them to call and repeat it at the end because they won't have any way to write the number down. I hope you all and your families are okay. Everyone is in my thoughts and prayers. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

Wow, time after bootcamp sure does fly. My son-in-law's PTS was approved so at least another 5 years in the Navy :)

That's funny Ellen, I almost asked them how much my credit card would be charged if I "accidently" took two of the pillows home with me and left mine behind lol. Instead I took the cover off and wrote down the name of them. Sadly I lost the name before I got back home lol.
