It...not Ot! Sorry. Serves me right for trying to CHAT on FB as I'm typing this! :-)
librarymom: Hmmm....we took the I-94W as it was a "straight shot". Not that many tolls but are you renting a car? Ot may be worth it to get the I-Pass that they offer you with the car. You pay for it but then don't have to worry about tolls. I don't remember that there were that many but wondering if they are manned or "mail a bill" now? Not sure. I-Pass solves that.
Hello!! I need help, maybe somebody knows what to do. I am unable to go to graduation the 6th, but my sister and my mother can go; they just told me yesterday. I was hoping for my son to call yesterday,so he could add them to the list, but he did'nt. I am heartbroken because my son will be alone for his graduation. If anybody knows what to do I will be forever greaful. Thank you again.
Anybody out there willing to give me advice about driving (by myself- yikes!) from O'hare to GL? Mapquest has these 3 suggestions. There are some slightly longer routes that require no tolls. Opinions? Advice? You all have been so wonderful! Thank you.
Here's the suggestions:

Ditto what familything said, I too didnt really post on here but I did/do stop & read. I look forward to helping other new mom's as they come along. I didn't know if I would survive it the first couple of days but N4M made me realize lots of us felt the same way, I've learned alot and have you veteran moms to thank! Cant wait for 7/6!
They dropped us off right at the guard house.
I was just wondering if when the shutttles dropped you off...if it was inside the gate or on the outside of the gates.
Yes...off of Buckley, Illinois Street, is the old entrance...at least it was when I went a year ago. It was blocked off. The entrance we used and that is still reported is Gate 8 off of Ohio. You continue on Buckley and make a left onto Ohio and then the entrance is on the right (can't miss it...Big Gates with a Huge Sign). It's right across from the Metra tracks and the Metra rail parking is on Ohio.
Ditto to what everyone has said so far! A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who is on this site helping us all with the many different difficulties that come with all the changes we are going through and the challenges it created to get to PIR. My days are just CRAZY busy but I have tried to check in a few times a day and make my "to do" lists or print maps etc. I just told a gal I work with that my SR passed and we were going to PIR and she started giving me tips so things would be easier. I thanked her and told her the Forum covered this as I listened in case there was anything that was not mentioned (there wasn't). I told her how "travel challenged" I am and all the tips and assistance I got so we could plan this trip. She said she wishes it was around or she knew about it 4 years ago when she went through this, it would have really helped her. Also my neices best friend who lives accross from me is leaving about July 18th, is the oldest of 5 girls, right out of High School and off to the Navy. As soon as I found this out at the graduation, I went over and spoke to her Mom and Dad and raved about this site. Her Mom is SO worried and said she is going to go nuts when her SR goes. I told her this site is MORE than just helpful, it is 24/7 "vent access", supportive and informative and told her for me, things like just seeing the "ship" he was on made it easier. She said she was getting right on it. It is so nice that she will be so much better with your help! And LaLa - received the beautiful ribbons - what a wonderful thing you do - Thank you! And to all the "Moms" I have friended, can't wait to put a name to a face at the Meet & Greets. Thanks again to everyone who makes this site such a success.
