Good morning everyone! Anybody sleep last night? Sharon, my son is in 208 and today would be 6-5 for them. I believe 205-205 are all waiting for calls today as you can tell from our excitement! Diannep thanks for the info about the blue candles. Is it tradition to burn Any blue candle or is there something specific? Most of us are leaving within a week for Great Lakes...any last minute tips or info would be welcome.
Cbadillo...I hope I'm not giving you bad info but I don't think your SR will be asmoed for a musical card...however it may bring unwanted attention to him...not sure if they could get I.t. For it or if maybe they won't even let him have it.

Ladies, In a little more than an hour hour they will be done with battlestations!  Oh how I pray they all pass.

I NEED some reassurance here ladies.  My sister tells me she sent my SR a musical card last week then read that they are NOT allowed.  Will my SR be in trouble for that?  Can they push back his PIR date? I am going crazy with worry.  Any info will help.

diannep, if my request didn't go through could you send me one? thanks

Comment by SailorMom_12 (Ship 03 DIV 208) on June 28, 2012 at 8:28am

Thanks for the clarification diannep - i was confused by katyellen's status note that she had heard from her SR.  Maybe I read it wrong.  I can't wait to hear!  I have my phone hidden under my purse right next to my computer and I am not planning to get much done here at work today because I will be on this site checking as much as possible!  :-)

diannep, I sent you a friend request. thanks :)

Comment by diannep on June 28, 2012 at 8:24am

Forgot to tell you all to light your blue candles last night!  Sigh...well, for future groups, light those candles for Battlestations as a sign that you are thinking/praying especially hard for your SRs as they become sailors!

The burning of the blue candles is tradition in the Navy...and it is still done once they are sailors...whenever your sailor is going through a test, trial, deployment, etc... am outward sign that you are thinking of your sailor!  Get a scented candle and your house will smell so good too!  :-)

Beener:  Are you sure you clicked "add comment?"  I only ask because I have asked myself the same thing before and then realized I closed the page before posting the comment!  :-)  But then again, maybe you did click on that but the page had a mind of its own.  The electronic world has a mind of its own!

Sharon:  I have an idea when her division will do BattleStations, but have not had a confirmed date yet.  I have been keeping BattleStations schedules since early in 2010.  Used to be able to post them, but RTC had us stop doing that last summer.  So now we must private message dates, but I do keep schedules here...and there is an order to them!  Friend request/message me if you want to.
