Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Maybe he was calling to let you know money would be coming in soon. You and your SR are in my thoughts and prayers. Our recruits are in the same Div. and they have been doing well so I'm sure he's on schedule for PIR. If I hear anything from my SR I will let you know. I hope we all hear from our SR soon!

Our SRs are in the same div - if there is anything we can do- please do not hesitate to ask - we have extra bed in our room at the Navy lodge and will be driving up - my parents are driving up as well - we will have plenty of room for transportation for you!!!

My SR called and told my husband they had to pay for their uniforms with the first pay. We had gotten his pay stubs and the balance was $0. So we thought something was wrong. But his June 17 pay had a deposit. So hang in there.

Comment by ellen0502 on June 27, 2012 at 2:38am: Amber, hang in there! There could be several reasons for the phone call and he might get the opportunity to call again today. Like Lala said, maybe to confirm the PIR list? There could be a number of other reasons for the call, and none of them bad. Perhaps it has just "caught up" to him about the banking issue? It may have even been a call just to say hello (yes they do get those sometimes).

Prayers for some "good light" on you today and that all your worries are solved.

I am really sorry all of this is going on at once and just compounding issues. After catching up on the forum from this afternoon, the time frame makes sense that the/6 7 PIR group start BS Wed night as it sounds like the 6/29 group finished tonight. They must have been behind or had to redo some so they could join thier PIR group on 6/29. Some have said before that when they call but don't leave a message it is because they need some info and call back. Hopefully it is to get the deposit info since they have had 2 paychecks now, so they can get him caught up. My thoughts are with you too. Get a good nights sleep and things should look up soon. I heard 205 is doing well, so he must be doing well too.
