Yes, I'm sure he would have, leftwayleft. There was a mom on one of the groups though who said her SR wouldn't call her when he had the chance to tell her about his new PIR group because he was afraid all would be disappointed in him. So sad...because of course they weren't and wanted to know. That is why I mentioned that.
cbadillo: Just sent you a "friend request" with BattleStations info. Don't click "accept" without reading it. The message goes away!
leftwayleft: I'm just still so shocked that your son has not been allowed to call. Didn't you say that the PAO was going to contact the personnel with him so that he could call? I just don't get that he has not called. Can you imagine if you had not called the PAO and arrived for PIR this week? I just don't understand that. That is the first time we have heard on here of a SR setback and moved into a new PIR group without being allowed to notify family. Now, the SR doesn't HAVE to call...they are given the option usually. But I can't imagine that he wouldn't have chosen to call you so you wouldn't make your way out there if he wasn't graduating.
Makes no sense to me...so not right.
HossLuvinNavyMom, yes if something were to happen you would know. It is my understanding that they are "required" to call if something will be holding them up for any reason.
I know it is hard, but no news is good news really holds true. I found myself the last couple of weeks almost hoping that I wouldn't see that 847 area code. I am sure things are OK at this point or you would have heard something.
Hang in their ladies you are very close.
Good evening to all! The letter I hoped for Weds, Thurs, then Fri, and still Sat thinking maybe it was misdelivered just never came, but the last 4 weeks did. I do think with a job, as he said he was always busy, that he just got too busy but the no contact is just killing me! Does anyone know that if something were to happen this late in the game that they would have him notify us ASAP so we could change travel plans? I hear no news is good news and the letter he would have written the Sun prior said all was good and he passed everything so far and doing great. ANYONE! Wow, never thought I would feel this ansy, he is 23! Thanks!
anyone going to Flanagan's Thursday the 5th for the meet and greet?
If anyone knows when ship 09 Deiv 205 goes to Battlestations PLEASE message me....I am on pins and needles! Thanks.
