Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

For those SRs setback (asmoed), they will be assigned a new PIR date once they get into their new division and resume training. If they pass all tests, including final PFA, they are at PIR.

For those SRs who fail their final PFA, if they don't pass it before their PIR, they stay in the FIT PROGRAM until they do, do BattleStations with whoever is going through then, and then head straight to A School, no PIR.

Hope this clears up the confusion!

I was actually living in NM (Mountain time) when my son was there and I got my call at just around 1p.m.. That would have been 2p.m. Central time (GL's time). He was one of the first sailor's to call in his group, :) so keep those phones very handy.

And, yes, the date you have is when they start (overnight drill). They will call the next afternoon, starting as early as 2 pm GL time but many times--calls start later. Phones handy all day that day!
