Welcome Dana...I am sorry your son was so sick...but very happy that he is better.
Yes it is Ship12/Div211. I hope all of your travel plan changes go well.
I got a letter today...yah!! He talked a lot about the live firing and weaponry training. He also said there were some problems with the marching and of course, if one or two guys struggle, they all suffer for it, so he was kind of bummed about that. Said he should find out about his orders soon and he will let me know as soon as he can. AND of course he can't wait til 7/6/12. Me too!
Amber, It seems the closer we get the harder the wait. I must say he sounds more like himself with each letter he writes. The first couple of weeks were "mentally" tough for him. He questioned his decision to sign on for awhile. But, now he is so happy. He is also learning so much and enjoying it! I hope to get to meet you on 07/06!
cbadillo: We can't post exact BattleStations dates on here, but Div 205/206 will start off BattleStations for this PIR group next week. We can private message them.
You all message me if you get a date for your division for BattleStations. I'm keeping a schedule. Thanks!
I received a letter today! It is always so good to hear from him. He is in Div 205; he says they earned another flag! They are all looking forward to Battlestations and of course PIR. I am counting down the days. I can't wait to receive "the call" telling me he is a sailor!! Does anyone know when this call should be expected for our division? Thanks to all of you ladies. I read everyone's posts and feel so much better knowing someone else knows how I feel.
Hi all!
Hey Dana, please don't be down. My SR's letters are never about "the group" as to what is going on, wish I had something to share, like when Amber noted they got the honorary flag - he did not even tell me that! I was lucky to receive one letter a week for the last 4 weeks, usually a Thurs but last ween it was Weds, so yesterday I was all expecting it and it was not there. I immediately thought something was wrong and pray it comes today. I just have to have faith that the ones who have been there before and helping us on this site and say, no new is good news, is correct. I think really they are just busy doing what they should. My SR has a "job" and I think his short letters are because he is also trying to write back to others and he said he is busy because of his duties. I do know how you feel, I have not noted my days off on the calendar yet because I think it will jinx things, but yet I already bought plane tickets and booked a room - and I keep telling myself that if they made it this far, surely they will make it. Anyone know about that part? HANG IN - not too long now. But keep busy so you don't stay bummed - go do something special for yourself!!! Take Care and see you in IL soon!
nssmom... I am truly grateful for this site and all the people on here. I would not know what i wouldve done without all of you :) It has been a ride hasnt it? Now it is so close, yet it seems so far away at times too. I never know emotionally what to expect from myself from day to day.. One day I will be ok and laughing and the next I just wanna be alone and cry... Those days I come on here and read posts from all of you and I really do feel better.. I thank each and every one of you for the support and information on this site... :)
