Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on July 5, 2012 at 5:03pm: In addition to that...you may be directed to the Chapel Parking across from the PIR Hall to drop your Sailor off after Liberty. This is next to the NEX and the other buildings that are there when you bring your Sailor back from Liberty. I have not asked all of the moms where they were returning their Sailors as yet!

On the first night I entered Gate 8 again and was directed over there to drop off. The other two days (Sailor was at RTC for a couple of days) it was always the PIR Parking Garage for pick up and drop off. Had to walk across to the NEX each day and pick him up...said our goodbyes each day in the Parking Lot. (This was a year ago)

I just had a Dad report from the 06/29 PIR that he returned his Sailor at the Illinois (old PIR entrance) Gate...this street runs in front of the NEX...and you make a right into the Chapel Parking...when I went this Gate was closed the entire weekend. I have asked how he new to do that...from Sailor or otherwise, just to know! Waiting for the response!

But that would be the limit as far as driving around base...no civilians past the Parking Garage or the Chapel.

You can see Gate 8 at the bottom right of the Map. The Parking Lot (Graduation) across the way is incorrect ...I'll have to talk to Craig about that.

Oh and if anybody finds out...Craig would really like to know what those Buildings are in the Rectangle with the arrow at the top. Some of us think the lerger one in the front is the Navy Fed(not sure) but there is a smaller one in the back too. Any help would be much appreciated!
