Lala Ribbon Queen-Thanks for the info.  It's very helpful.  I look forward to my letter this week (and maybe even possibly a phone call) to see if anything happened for him.  Thanks so much, you have quite the resource there in your daughter. ;-)

I asked my Sailor about testing in bootcamp and changing divisions. She said they will give them a couple days to practice the swim part with their original division and then if they pass everything the will move them to the 800 division unless they are a female. Females would stay in their regular division.

When my daughter was there two years ago memorial Day weekend was her first weekend there. She was pushed and put in a performing division that was already formed and ended up having PIR a week sooner than we expected. But she did get to write her first letter on Sunday, Memorial Day weekend and they also got to write on Monday because it was a holiday. So I got two letters from her that second week of boot camp as well as the form letter. So maybe just maybe you guys may get a nice long letter or possibly even two. I definitely have my fingers crossed for you. I can't believe it has been two years already. Time after bootcamp flies.

It is very possible that they were allowed to write letters yesterday and/or today (since it's a holiday).  Would be mailed out tomorrow.  They usually are allowed to write once they have been there for about 2 weeks.  So hopefully letters will start arriving later this week for you all!

They can really call at any time, kathyellen.  Hate to lock it into any timeframe.  Usually personal calls end early evening, at the latest...but you never know...

how late can they call up to??

Has anyone from ship 3 div 207 got a letter or call? I started writing to him 2 weeks ago do you think the letters I sent to him are there yet?

twopercentsmom:  I see you are in CA.  Just remember, it is possible that you could have some "info" calls in the mornings...since GL time is 2 hours ahead of yours, I would make sure you have a phone available during the night just in case a call comes in. Every now and then, we see someone post that a call came in very late at night.  Doesn't happen often, but anything goes.  I missed my sailor's "I'm here" call because I figured he wouldn't call after 11 pm (his time) that night...turned off my cell for the night and that is what he called...not sure why he didn't call my home number, but guessing that he didn't want to wake me up since this was about 2-3 a.m.

Lights out is normally at 10 pm.  But they get to hit the racks at 8 pm on the day they finish Battlestations since they have been up for about 36-40 hours by then.

Thank you all for the info.  My SR was actually tested before he left, but his recruiter kept putting it off and finally did it like 1 month before he left for boot camp and said he doubted even though his scores were great, that they would change his boot camp (which we were disappoited because this is always what he's wanted to do); his PT scores were very good, the guys that tested him said he had one of the fastest swims they'd seen in a very long time.  So my SR said he will just keep applying for it, then this happened where they pulled him out of his division for testing...I am pleased because I know this is where his heart is, but wondering if it affects anything regarding the PIR?  It sounds like after listening to all of you ladies, that it is very doubtful anything to do with his PIR will change.  I will make sure I do SouthWest though like most have recommended so I can easily make some changes.  Thanks again all.  Hoping to get that 1st call soon, has anyone got their 3 wk phone call?  Officially 3 wks is tomorrow, but I'm having my phone handy all day today.  Do you guys know what time "lights out" is?  I'm wondering when it's safe to turn the volume down on my phone in the evening.  Thanks
