Tyelersmom...i have reserved my rooms for 3 nights. First night at Red Carpet (because its close and cheap and we will be getting in late) two nights at Courtyard Marriott. Hopefully there won't be any changes.
Hello all... I was just wondering if anyone has made reservations for hotel rooms yet? The weekend of July 6th is a holiday weekend and I wondered if we should make reservations now or???? Im skeptical because I had reservations all made for my SR when he was supposed to PIR on June 22nd... then he got hurt and I had to cancel the res... so now I dont want to do it too early but with the holiday and all Im afraid to wait too long... also, where is the best place to stay.. does anyone have any info on best prices and best reviews of hotels close to base... any info would help... thanks ladies :)
diannep: Well, hopefully my letters will make it there by Sunday. In my other post I wrote that the piece of paper that had my addresses written on it had made it into the "kid in a box" and came back to my house. I don't think he meant to put in into the box though. If he wrote the addresses down then why would the addresses come back in the box? I think it made it in there by accident. I'm hoping that my letters I sent this week would have made it there before Sunday that way, this Sunday he can actually write me back and I don't have to wait ANOTHER week to finally get a letter. This waiting stuff isn't easy. I wish the next 42 days would just speed by!
misskatiebabie: If he had put that address piece of paper in his wallet, he could have kept it! They are allowed to keep their wallets.
You all may want to mail them a small sheet of paper with phone numbers/addresses on them. They are actually allowed to have this.
Ladies: Here's a phone number for the division tshirts (Poseiden Sportswear). Not sure what is going on with the links:
972-347-6655
These are the shirts that your SRs design.
I should add that they only receive mail on that Sunday when their mail delivery is first started. After that, mail is delivered M-F to them.
misskatiebabie: They usually start receiving mail the 2nd Sunday they are there....and many times can start writing that day. My guess is that next week will be the first mail from them.
SailorMom: As juliebelle said, they must train the Recruit Mail Petty Officer before any mail is delivered/mailed Sometimes your first letters and their first letters "cross' in the mail...so by the time you get their letters asking why you haven't written, they have received your letters! :-)
You are now:
TG 34 — 10 Divisions (205–212, 815 & 934) Graduate Friday, July 6, 2012
...as per RTC Website.
Congratulations!
Thanks for the reply juliebelle. I got a letter from my SR on Wednesday (finally! :-) and he said boot camp was "hard but not unbearable". I don't want to do anything to get him in trouble that would push it over the edge from hard to unbearable if you know what I mean. I sure hope he is getting the other letters I have sent. I don't want him to think we are not here at home thinking of him and wishing him luck all the time!
Dana - I would like the link to the DIV shirts also. The links I have seen on this site don't work anymore.
i have been trying to locate the order for thier div shirts - does anybody happen nto have the link?
