WadesMom:  purplegiraffe is absolutely correct.  TAKE THEM!  They will get in.  My son's group had 9 divisions...there was plenty of space in there...even after extras came in.  They will get in.  They may not even have to wait.

Just make sure all have proper ID and if driving in separate cars, copies of your gate pass.

Ladies, here is the link again to print your gate passes.  You need these if you are planning to drive onto the base.  If taking the shuttle, you don't.  However, we strongly recommend that all print it and take it....you will not be able to get back on base that night to return your sailor without it (sailor will have to walk from gate...longer walk for them).

Use password from your original form letter typed in ALL CAPS.  Print as many as you like and write in info.

WadesMom, unless something has changed, that we are not aware of, extras are usually not an issue. The will have to wait until all those on the list have been allowed in before they may enter, and they are allowed in on a first come first serve basis until the hall is full ( 9 divisions it should not be a problem at all).

Your son had to list people on the form letter, he may understand it as that's it. If he has been told specifically that only four can attend that would be a different story.

Even if it was the case that only four may attend (have not heard that) take everyone anyway. PIR is only an hour and a half there is at least the rest of the day to spend with your SAILOR if they are leaving for A School, and the weekend if they are staying.

Comment by purplegiraffe69 on July 30, 2012 at 10:25pm

you can only have 4 on the list, the rest will sign in when they get to PIR and be put on the wait list, and have to wait a little bit, but then most likely everyone on the wait list will get in.   we only have 9 divisions, and veteran moms have seen everyone get in with 14 divisions graduating.  we are going to have 2 on the wait list.

Hope everyone is having a good day...11 days...so excited :)

Comment by diannep on July 30, 2012 at 2:44pm

Yes, Jmaries;  You can make as many copies of the gate pass as you need for your family members.  You write in the info.

Good, that's what I was going to suggest! Good Job!

Comment by SailorMom92 (DIV 244) on July 30, 2012 at 1:00pm

Woo hoo. printed off mine too.  Can rest of family or friends use the gate pass as well?  Other than the ones on the access list of 4?
