good morning. I got a letter today from my SR today. 16 more days!!!!! I am confused as to what day they are on. His division is 244
helenk: You will learn so much on this site by the time you have a sailor! Lots of info on here!
Good Morning ladies!
Diannep, thanks for the info. My son is in the Air Force and I assumed it was done the same with the boys and girls. They were not integrated but would still train with them. I am an Army brat, Air Force wife and and Air Force mom. Cheyenne (our daughter) is the first in the family to go into the Navy so I am learning. It's all new though. The acronyms are very different. I feel like I need a class for them. Luckily my sons best friend is in the navy so I call him when I am reading her letters and he deciphers all the acronyms for me. lol... We went up to his graduation at Great Lakes last year. It is beautiful up there and very easy to get around. We only stayed a day and didn't do much but visit but what we did see was so pretty. Lake Michigan is a great background for pictures! I am really excited about going back up and spending a bit more time with Cheyenne. 16 days!!
Arg, the mrtdpi dot marine dot mil site isn't even loading up for me... so I can't even get "close" to him by proxy.. (you know what I mean!!)
So, I missed my SR's call but she called grandma. i feel bad, but it made grandma so happy it's hard to begrudge her! LOL I booked the hotel rooms today and was thinking about transportation.. It's under $90 round trip for 2 on the bus and I'm so tempted. It'd be so relaxing.. yes I did all this hand-wringing last time and ended up driving and taking all the kids... because I just can't get comfortable with the transportation when we GET there. My sister will be there, this time... so... hmmm any advice?
Who's got kids staying in GL, after?
momma2many, as far as we know there isn't another site like this for any other branch. We have been trying to talk FTLW into making one for the Marines lol. Maybe you could convince her.
Very interesting purplegirraffe, thanks so much for sharing.
I am pretty sure that is correct Diannep :-)
hey, can anyone recommend a usmc site similar to this one. I love navyformoms!!
Interesting, purplegiraffe! Thanks for the insight! Won't be long, I bet, before there are all-girl divisions again, don't you think????
Actually, my division was the last ALL GIRL division back in the day (20 years ago -July 4th!) We were the K (all girls) Division and the C (all guys) --we had a brother division, like they do now. My best friend from boot camp (I went to A school with her too) fell in a love with a guy from our brother company. He also went to pensacola for school like us too---they are now married with 3 kids! After my division started up, the rest of the divisions after ours were called "I" divisions, for integrated. I guess that is what they still do.
