Thanks T's Mom, it was a great party. We got her a bunch of stuff for her dorm room. Having her leave for college is going to make me miss her and my Sailor/Daughter even more. This house is going to be sooooo quiet :(
Thank you Lala Ribbon Queen...yes you made me hungry...have a wonderful day and happy birthday to your daughter.
You would still put that T's Mom, all the boot camp addresses have that on them :-) He may be in one of the divisions that had to move because of AC problems.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday. Today is my step-daughters 18th birthday. So I have been cooking and cleaning all day. We have lots of family and several of her friends coming over. We are having fresh Red Snapper caught while on vacation a couple weeks ago :-) Also grilled asparagus, homemade fruit salad, potato salad & baked beans, cheddar bay biscuits and of course birthday cake. Anyone hungry now? lol come on over :-)
For anyone new to this group be sure and check out this group page on facebook. Just make sure to stay on this page daily as well. This site needs you and so do the people on here who don't "do" facebook. There are lots of members here and the group is growing everyday. I am sure you will find some others from your division on this page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/327167160695549/
My son's address changed my question is do I still put recruit training command? He didn't put that on his new address... the 1st letter I didn't but I was told that I need too I hope he got my letter.
alicia: I agree with Mommanavyboy. They will forward from the previous address.
Hi Alicia. My son, in all caps wrote to me, KEEP SENDING TO THE ORIGINAL ADDRESS. He is in DIV 243. That is all I know, so hope he is getting my letters.
Train station is right next to RTC/A School bases.
WadesMom: Many like to take the train into Chicago and explore there. Lots to see there and good places to eat. It is CHEAP to take the train on the weekend.
We always suggest that you let your sailor determine the activity for the day. Some just want to hang out in the hotel room, catch up on their computer (that you bring!) and cellphone (that you bring!)....and be with family laying low. Others want to get out and explore. There is a nice mall there...Gurnee Mall....filled with sailors. It is kind of neat to see them all milling around in there. Navy Pier is another place families like to go.
I think if they gave you a new address then you can use it. Either way the mail will make it to them and I doubt it will even be delayed. They probably moved more than one division. One RDC may have told his/her recruits the new address and another may not have. No worries, they will get their mail :-)
OK ladies, I am looking to come up with FUN things to do w/ my SR while in Chicago. Anyone have any suggestions? Obviously I will be more or less strapped due the COST of this trip, so the cheaper the better. LOL!!!!!
