I got a letter yesterday he seem to be down in his letter or maybe it was just me...so happy for all the moms who are getting phone calls I got one and that was Saturday and he didn't get to talk long so praying for another soon and hoping he will get to talk longer. Everyone have a great day!
Hope all are having a good day! Having computer issues today so haven't been able to get on the site. Still can't answer private emails on here....not sure what's going on.
Hope it resolves soon!
Just got another letter today!! I look like such a fruitcake running to the mailbox...who cares! My SR confirms that they (DIV 243) was moved to the USS Arizona, but to continue mailing to same address. Said they were fitted for dress uniforms and he was looking forward to the upcoming firing range. He sounded positive, but glad to be busy as he was bored. I sincerely wonder how on earth that he can be bored, but who knows.
WOW! AND ANOTHER ONE. TWO CALLS WITHIN 10 MIN. WOO HOO!!!!!
Yay! Our SR won a 10 min. call!!!! :)
If you have small kids at home here are some ideas :-)
I know it is hard on all the moms, wives, etc but it is also hard on the little kids. They miss their big brothers and sisters or Dads and Moms so much and they just don't understand it all. I know some families have made it easier for them by making some kind of craft to help them count down the days until PIR. Some have made paper chains like are used at Christmas and they tear off a link every day. Others have used a small jar filled with marbles or pennies. One mom even used a jar filled with quarters and once a week they would take the quarters they had pulled out of the jar and go get an ice cream cone :-) There are lots and lots of creative ways to make it easier for the little ones. You can also do a picture collage of what they are doing while bro/sis/dad/mom is at bootcamp like going to the pool, the dentist, shopping, playing with a family pet, a picnic etc and then scan it onto the back of a letter each week. My mind is spinning with ideas :-)
SJMiller753 SHIP 09 DIV 247 I can confirm what megan21 SHIP09 DIV248 and bvealellis ( Ship 09 DIV 247) have said. Our SR told us yesterday that they were on 2-5 which would put them starting 3-1 today.
I just saw an advertisement on TV for a Nationwide Sale at Southwest Airlines. They are running a special for one way flights for only $69.00. You have to book at Southwest.com and the promotion is called their "Nationwide Sale" they are book flights all over the country for that price. Check and see if an airport close enough to you flies Southwest. They don't have a charge for 2 checked bags and they don't charge a change fee if you have to change your tickets. You would only have to pay the difference in the cost of the flight. This is a great deal and they fly into more than one airport in the Chicago/Milwaukee area. Here is the link http://www.southwest.com/
I have not received my phone call yet, maybe he called but I missed, because I was not a home these few days on vacation, and he may be not remember my cellphone#.
