Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on July 10, 2012 at 8:31am: SJMiller, If Monday was 3-1 then PIR Aug 10th would be on 7-5 and that is normal. They really only have about 6 full weeks of training. I am sure they will be finished on time :-)

SJMiller:. What they can have is another week of bootcamp after BattleStations if they are in a lower-numbered division--those divisions do BattleStations first. Your division, judging by the week/day count, will have a few days left of bootcamp after their BattleStations before PIR. I have read before that the 800 divisions sometimes have to "finish up" some training after PIR...not sure about any other divisions doing that though. Haven't ever heard of it.

Comment by SJMiller753 SHIP 09 DIV 247 on July 10, 2012 at 6:13am: our son said he had 2 weeks of "P" days. So if Monday was week 3 day 1, then div 247 will have one more week of boot camp after PIR. We read on a navy site that this can in fact happen? any thoughts?

Diannep thank you for your concern in regards to names. I used first names in my post.Do I need to remove them? Didn't even think about them calling each other by last names only! Thanks again!

He is spoiled by technology!!! I plan to add phone #'s and addresses of certain people just in case he wants or needs them!!!

Krista: Do you know if that name you posted is a last name? I ask because they know each other by last names at bootcamp. If it is, you will need to remove your post (click "x" in the post box). You can repost without the last name....but we can''t post the SRs' last names on N4Moms. OPSEC rules (security).

Now, if you would like to try and find this SR's family, you are welcome to go into your discussion group above in the Forum and private message the ladies in that group to see if this is their SR! That is allowed! Hope you find that family!
