Would like to give a big shout out to alicia24 for creating this group ~  THANK YOU Alicia!

When I got the 3 week phone call my kid said he is friends with everyone in his unit and I knew I had to meet the other families before PIR. I am so excited to get to Great Lakes! Is Avery's mom out there somewhere? That is Drews best bud! Can't wait to meet you all.

purplegiraffe:  It was reported by a couple of ladies on here that 247/248 are on 3-1 today (Mon).

I agree with Lala/ellen that there are no guaranteed days for phone calls.  More often than not, we hear of SRs writing home with a date that they will be able to call...and the calls do not come in then.  Sometimes they do, but in my experience on this site (since 2009), most of the time they do not come on that day.  That is why we tell you all to keep your phones handy at all times...if you can't take it into the bathroom with you, have someone "babysit" it!  Seriously!  We have also seen calls missed when someone steps out to the mailbox to check for a letter...so take the phone with you!

Something to think about.  Does your SR know your cell number?  Because we all know that many times, we just hit a "name" to call.  If you aren't positive, send phone numbers on a small piece of paper in your next letter!

Good Morning all!

That is what I have seen as well ellen0502, it seems more calls are made during training week 3 but they can come any time. So keep your phones near by ALL the time :-)

Comment by ellen0502 on July 9, 2012 at 2:11am

Phone calls can vary from division to division and TG to TG. I don't think there is any set time, I could be wrong though.

The first phone call I received was at the end of training week 3. Just keep your phones near at all times.

I'm not sure which training day they call on but I am sure it can vary. Hopefully it will be sometime this week.

I am pretty sure they call on week 2 day 5? and we have not received any calls yet?   I thought someone said 247 was on week 2 day 1 on Monday July 2nd? which would put Week 2 day 5 tomorrow?

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on July 8, 2012 at 4:35pm

Thanks Diannep, good to be back.

My calculations had us on 3-1 on Monday also.

Comment by diannep on July 8, 2012 at 3:22pm

purplegiraffe:  247/248 train together, so are at the same training week/day count.  Sounds like they should be 3-1 tomorrow, like megan said.  That is because they "lost" a day for July 4th...holidays don't count so they moved back a day.  Otherwise Monday would have been 3-2.

Comment by purplegiraffe69 on July 8, 2012 at 1:47pm

i think ship 09, div 247 will be Week 2, day 5 on Monday.  I hope there is a crazy storm and they can't call home till Tuesday. I have to work 2p-8p at the Peds office Monday, so I am scared I will miss his call! I am off tues/wed/thur!     One of the moms said in a letter that they were week 1 day 5 on July 1st, that is how I came up with that.
