everyone please keep coming to this page. There are moms and other members who don't "do" facebook and they will be looking for support here. Some of them are here just reading posts who are too shy to post anything their selves so they rely on what they read here to get them through this experience. If you want some great facebook groups here are the ones I have seen the most activity on. Also remember some group are closed and some are not. You should never post any private info or ship movement, Sailor travel details on any page or group no matter if it is private, closed or open. Always be safe and keep your Sailor safe.

Wow, Betsy.  Must have been a tremendous sight for him to see.

So cute about your neighborhood celebration!  Sounds like you are in a very nice area with concerned and involved neighbors.  That is HUGE!  Bet you are enjoying it.

Dianne, great to hear that all went well with the fireworks.

I hope all had a great day yesterday.  My husband and I sat and watched our neighborhood "parade" from our front porch.  It was very cute.  Lots of children dressed in red, white & blue riding bikes, in wagons and on scooters going down the street, with all the parents walking behind them.  Our neighborhood has free food, pony rides and games after the parade.

I talked with my sailor this morning and his ship had sailed into San Diego port on Sunday after doing flight maneuvers in the ocean for about a week.  He had liberty for 2 days and was able to get together with some of his Navy "family".  They went to Sea World and then yesterday they all sat on the deck of the aircraft carrier and watched the San Diego fireworks over San Diego.  Can you imagine what an awesome sight that must have been?

Rain cleared in time for fireworks down here to go off as usual.   YAH!

Good morning all~

You're very welcome!  It just started pouring here in Miami...been sunny now for several days...but now it is raining right before the fireworks celebrations.  Thunder/lightening too.  My older son is involved with the Homestead-Miami Speedways (Nascar) fireworks show tonight...sure hope he is careful!  :-)
