Wadesmom, I totally agree with the other ladies. I would also hold onto the fact your SR most likely wrote the letter that you are receiving at least 4 or 5 days before. It will help get you through that letter and help you look forward to receiving their next letter.
Good Morning Navy family :-)
WadesMom: I totally agree with ellen and Lala here. They may have a "low moment" when they are writing and then things get better...and maybe bad again! The emotional rollercoaster of bootcamp! This group is still very early in bootcamp which is the very hard part of it. Lots of yelling, learning, messing up, etc. The 2nd half of bootcamp gets much better for them!
Wadesmom, like Lala said, what ever it was has passed I am sure. The next couple of weeks are hard for them, and then things start turning around. You may even get a real excited, happy letter one week and the next all gloom and doom. THIS IS NORMAL!!!
Keep the positive attitude when you write to them, if they are having a bad day your happy letter may just turn their day around.
WadesMom, hang in there, we are here for you. Just know that by the time you receive the letter several days have passed and what ever was causing his difficulty has likely passed by now. I am sure he is doing better already :-) {{{{{HUGS}}}}}
Good Night all, LONG sad day here, ready to go to bed and make it go away. Hoping for a phone call Wed. Would really like to know my son is doing ok, he sounded so happy the first half of his letter, but so discouraged the second half, Its killing me!! NOT MUCH LONGER, is what I keep telling myself!!!
For any new members who have not joined the facebook group yet be sure and check it out. Just keep coming to this page as well :-)
So so happy for your phone calls, I hope more of you get them tomorrow :-)
rpgolfmom my daughter gained 9 lbs at boot camp, all muscle. That is a lot for a girl who left home at 103 pounds lol.
Remember, ladies. Those of you keeping up with the training week/day count for your division. They will all move back a day in numbers because of July 4th. So...if they are 2-2 tomorrow, they will still be 2-2 on Thurs. Holidays are not counted as training days. So be sure to make that change after the holiday.
Gina: That count is "right on" for the 900 group. They usually do BattleStations on pretty much the same week day each time...sometimes a day later. With the move back a day for July 4th, that has them right where they need to be. Remember, weekends do not count in the training day count either. They are on week/day "hold" Friday until Monday.
Also, BattleStations will start about 10 days before PIR for some divisions. They are ready to do them at 6-5. They don't do them on Fri or Sat nights. So it won't be much longer now!
I got a phone call from my son today. Just an info phone call. But the lady that was with him for his physical gave us about 10 minutes to just talk. Said he is doing good. Tired but other than that doing well. Said the food was good. His division which is 939 is on Week 2 Day 1 today. And that they just started writing yesterday. So all the moms of that division should get letters sometime this week. Also told me that that is what keeps him going, is hearing from home. I thank whomever it was that told me to write everyday, I figured it would aggravate him but he says that helps alot. He has to call back Thursday for more info.
