Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by WadesMoM on June 28, 2012 at 1:36pm: I got my letter!!!!!!!!! I am sooo happy!!! He seems to have written it over a couple of days, and WOW how his tone changed over those 2 days. At first he said he loved it there and was laughing and enjoying it, the next he is homesick and not happy about being called ugly names and stating how he doesnt understand why they have to belittle you so.

He says he HAS read his bible everyday and is trying to become a chaplain's assistant. This comes as no surprise to me!!!

Thanks everyone and to those who haven't gotten theirs yet, Im so sorry and I'm praying you do got yours soon!!!!

There are a million non-catastrophic reasons for no letter, most likely the mail service, second, the random-ness of the Petty officers, they're all different. Also, your son could have been standing watch or had some other responsibility. 900 divs have more work to do. He's prob sleeping instead of writing!!!! :)
