I am a little sketched out on the integrated divisions-- (as a vet I like tradition! ha) but SR grew up with two older brother-like cousins and has spent enough time competing with boys to survive it, I suppose. They have so much to lose via fraternization that I wish GL wasn't making it so easy.
Also, SR said she went to church on sunday and it was so normal. She felt "home". Even if you aren't really church goers, chapel is the place where the people are normal and gives your SR a break from the pressure.
I hope you guys get letters today. I got one yesterday... Thursday was my day when my son was at Great Lakes. She seemed content. She said it "sucks but she can handle it" lol and told one of the kids it wasn't horrible. :) She said she missed affection. That touched my heart because when she came to us (at 9yrs) she wasn't a fan of affection.
It simply has to be my day, I cant imagine how sad Ill be if there is not letter today.. I know many other moms feel the same!!
Best of Luck to us!!
Good morning, all.
It's THURSDAY! Hoping that this may be letter day for some of you! Thursday was always my letter day when my son was there. Good luck!
Kurtmansmom, Id love to hear more about what your son said, for his is in the same division as my son!! I didnt get a letter, Im hoping I will tomorrow!! Ill be sooo disappointed and heartbroke if I dont!!! Itll be tough to make it another week without any word... Im so glad you got mail!!!
It is so good to see so many getting letters today. Tomorrow should be another good day for letters for those who didn't get one today. :-)
Sorry I was MIA most of the day today. I had a lot to accomplish and then we had our navy Mom get together this evening and we had a great time. I wish everyone here could have joined us :-)
I got a letter today!!! DIV 243. He's happy and healthy and no real complaints...what else can I ask for?!!
Kurtmansmom, yes it definitely does take them awhile to form as a team. Can you even imagine how hard it would be to get all those different personalities to work together? You will be amazed at the end result though. The RDC's can really work miracles.
Just recieved my first letter! His bunk mate is from Southern San Diago, his name his Lois I think thats what he wrote. He said he was hilarious. Hoping maybe his mom is on this site, that would be great. Said things are going pretty good for the exception that they was having trouble becoming a team. I quess that would be expected. I'm sure that will take time. He said everyone there mispronounces his name wrong so he gave up correcting them, I thought that was funny. He had the same trouble at school with the staff. I'm just sooo relieved to hear he is doing ok, it makes it so much easier to handle.
