If you are counting bootcamp weeks, Jake'sMom...I guess you can count weekends. However.... Training days are M-F. They are "on hold" during the weekends/holidays. And, bootcamp days are not the same as training days. If you are trying to count the 8 weeks of bootcamp, it will be easier.
Training weeks are started after processing days and after they fill the divisions. They are 6 weeks long. Days are counted 1-5 and go M-F. So if they are 1-4 (week 1/day 4) on a Friday, they will be 1-5 on Monday.
They will do Battlestations (their final test) on 6-5. So it is important for you all to ask your SRs what training day number they are on that day if they call. Then you can mark it on your calendar and keep up with it.
hey guys (hello again dianne and lala!!) This is my second time around. My son PIRed 1/27 and now my niece (who I've had since she was 9) is in Great Lakes. Things have already changed some since I was hanging around before-- the RTTC Facebook is less friendly because of FB's redesign so I'll be around here most of the time, I think! Anyway-- here's to another bumpy ride!
A~
Good Morning Dianne :) Can anyone answer if SR's train on the weekends too. For example if they started their first day of bootcamp on thursday (1-1) then friday would be 1-2, will saturday and sunday be 1-3 & 1-4? Just trying to follow along with the day to day to day schedule >>What happens at bootcamp - Day-per-Day? (Up to week #6)
Good morning all!
My Sailor bought a prepaid phone at the NEX within 30 min of arriving on A-school base lol. She couldn't wait for her phone to come in the mail. She had been without contact long enough :-)
They actually should have it when they first arrive since those in their "dorms" will have it!
alicia: They get their address right after they arrive so he should be able to call you (borrowed phone or payphone with remainder of his phone card) pretty quickly. My son gave me his address the 2nd day he was at his A School.
For any new members to the Group and for those that may have missed it:
OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time to read the N4M’s Community Guidelines and OPSEC (Clickable link). A quick note here:
Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.
ADDED up above in the Test Box area (where your CD clock and weather widget are located):
