megan: Why not start a division discussion above for Ship 9 Div 248? The ladies will find you there! Just stay on this main page too since we will be passing out lots of important info! :-)
I know there are several facebook closed and open groups to join. I am on several of them myself and help out there as well answering questions. But, please stay active on your group page and DIV discussions on Navy for Mom's. There are lots of members who join that this group who do not use Facebook and we want you to be able to meet them as well. There are even some on there who are too shy to even comment. This may be their first experience with computers and they are weary about posting anything. But they do love to read your comments and hear about your letters from your recruits. eventually most of them will build up their confidence and post comments as well. So please check N4M's everyday and let others know how you and your recruit are doing. Thanks :-)
Here is a few of the more active groups on facebook some are closed and some are not please use caution with which groups you join and it is in your recruits best interest not to use last names and especially important once they are with the fleet NOT to give out any specific dates as to where they are or where they are going.
Here are the groups for you but be sure to come back here daily and even a lot more if you can :-)

Yes, Diannep is so right. The FB page is nice for socializing, but this site is where you will be getting the most valuable information.
But ladies.....PLEASE stay on this page too! We will be dispensing lots of important info on here!
Marisa'sMom: Some ladies also send an "extra" phone card to them. Just in case. Again, they can buy these at the NEX, but of course, they pay for them then. It is amazing how many minutes are "eaten up" when they call on the pay phones, so send one that has at least 500 minutes on it. Some may need to be activated so make sure that is done before you mail so they don't waste time doing that when calling. However, many times, they are activated when you pay for them and they are scanned. Be sure to ask.
My son had his phone card that he brought with him, but it ran out of minutes in the middle of a call to me. He was able to buy another one very quickly right there and called right back.
MSmom: I had the same thing happen with my son. I sent him a couple of self-addressed stamped envelopes but he preferred to use the Navy stationery they have. I didn't think about the address labels....good idea!
My SR's gf received the form letter....I got the box with the dirty clothes! LOL! I was curious who he had put for his 4 guests. I've been trying to get his gf and sister to join this site. I have been texting his gf....and we've laughed at the PDA rules. I understand them - but it gives us a chance to be silly with each other and support each other long distance.
Receipt of form letter can take anywhere from a few days to 2 weeks. So try and be patient. Also, they can only send out one. So if there are other family members who may have received the letter, check with them!
Good morning all!
