Congratulations to Saturday's Captain's Cup winners. Division 939 won in the integrated division competition and Division 247 won in the non-integrated division competition.
If you are looking for a hotel room at really any of the hotels that are booked up I suggest calling them early morning, then again around 11 am. 2 or 3 pm and again around 7 and each time you call ask if they have had any cancellations. They always have some and you may be able to get the room at the place you want to stay.
For those wanting to bring civilian clothes: I would just wait and mail some to them. My daughter packed a whole suitcase before she left for boot and told me to bring it with me. I brought it because we drove and I had room. She looked through it and picked out 2 pair of jeans and a couple of shirts and said mail these to me and just pack up the rest with my other things. Then when she came home after A-school she went through it all and took what she wanted. They really do find that they don't need all that stuff and after they carry around 2 or 3 seabags they don't want anything else to carry lol. The most important thing she wanted was new undies. I guess granny panties are just not her style lol.
Great BattleStations video. Scroll down to middle of page:

Diannep: Thanks so much for the info. Navy Lodge is full. I wish I had known about that option to stay sooner. Marriott-Courtyard has only king suites left and we are paying for two rooms...came up to almost a thousand dollars to stay there. Springhill is also booked. Maybe it won't be too bad...crossing my fingers!
Christy: We have heard both good, bad, and average on the Ramada over the past two years. They do have a MeetandGreet there. The most recent comment I heard is that it was "clean" but not the greatest...and you can't walk around outside...nothing there. But that was one person's experience.
Did you try Springhill Suites, Courtyard Inn, Residence Inn, Navy Lodge? I know many of them may be full by now, but you could check. Some stay in Libertyville also...nice hotels there. I believe it is about 6-7 miles from RTC.
Do you have AAA? You can use that discount too if hotels are sold out of Navy Grad discount.
Thanks Alicia:)happy to know they can have cell phone...I read that every A school was different some didn't allow cell phones I hope this isn't true.
Good evening, everyone! Anyone on that had graduation/PIR last couple of weeks that stayed at the Ramada Inn? I read some pretty bad stories...Im debating canceling...although all thats available now are super expensive...would just like some feedback if anyone has any...
Thanks again. It's good to have someone who's been there and done that to help out!
It is very easy to get to base from the Navy Lodge, it is the same way you go to PIR except instead of turning into the gate for PIR you take the next street (I think it is Sheridan If I remember right.
The base is only about 2 miles from the Navy Lodge, not even one as the crow flies. At night if you listen close you can here them playing taps on base, kinda cool to hear.
Thank you so much for your helpful advice. We are staying at the Navy Lodge. Does that make it easier to get him to and fro? He said he has liberty on Sat. Unfortunately we have to leave early Sunday because I start teaching again on Monday. I think this may be the longest week of my life!
