Thanks diannep, we are all going to be in different places and I wasn't sure if he would be able to call all of us.

We got a call this morning! Division 272 earned calls home so keep those phones close!

Comment by diannep on August 23, 2012 at 12:24pm

kbreanne:  If he pays for them up there, then he could pay to have them mailed home.  We have seen people in the past post that they received them before they left for PIR.  My son paid for his, but kept them there until I got up for PIR.  Others wait in the L O N G lines at the NEX after PIR to pay for them for their sailor.

HINT ON THAT:  One man posted recently that rather than wait in the NEX lines after PIR, you can come back to RTC later in the afternoon and the lines are gone.  That is what he did and he said it was great.

For those who just want to "shop" at the NEX with their sailor, please consider going to the larger NEX which is very close by on Green Bay Road.  Will not be as crowded and it is larger.

No, Jodi.  They usually have a certain amount of time to call....anyone and all they want to.

Comment by Jodi-alumni Ship 4 on August 23, 2012 at 10:20am

Diannep, do they only get to call one person when they make the call ?

Comment by diannep on August 23, 2012 at 8:29am

Ok, so we are hoping to hear from 818, 269/270 this afternoon as the first new sailors of this group, right?  Calls can start as early as 2 pm GL time so phones handy!  Please ask if all in the division passed and post that.  Some will not get to make calls right away since they will have watch, and this info (if all passed) will help those ladies waiting for the call.

Be sure to check your new sailor's FB account too since some will get on the computers before they can get on the phones!  The capping ceremony should be going on up there soon....where they trade out that RECRUIT cap for that NAVY cap!  Very emotional time for them.

Remember, they will be very tired most likely when they call.  Have been up since early yesterday morning and no sleep until 8 pm tonight (two hours earlier than usual!).  They may be eating a candy bar/drinking an energy drink when they call!

Look forward to some wonderful calls today!

okay, I had told him to mail them home, not sure how that worked. I didn't really want to waste any time after PIR standing in line to order them, I heard it could be a long wait!

Comment by diannep on August 22, 2012 at 9:01pm

kbreanne:  Should say that you can order in the NEX after PIR too.

Comment by JLH on August 22, 2012 at 8:45pm

My boyfriend said that they would pay for their pictures on the 28th and that is when you would see the change on their account!
