julielind:  Just go to the MeetandGreet rectangle up above and click on the link below it.  Then click on Sarge's link at the top of that page. You can RSVP there.  You can show up w/out RSVPing but it helps him to prepare the food by having an idea of how many are coming.  He pays for this out of his own pocket.  He does accept donations!  :-)  Soooo.....RSVP if you can, but if you forget, please go anyway!

I must have missed something here, we should RSVP for Sarge's meet and greet?

Thanks ellen0502 I know he will eventually pass the test and am really hoping he pulls it out before graduation!  I am so glad for the website - Really helps keep everythign in perspective.  I would be all over the place without it.

Sandr, like diannep said he still will have several opportunities to pass. They will do everything they can to help him succeed. Extra train time when available and lots of encouragement from his shipmates.

Thank you so very much - I am so glad I researched this in case I get a bad call- I believe he is going to pass but It is going to be great to say - I am coming anyway if he doesnt.  I really appreciate you.

meant to say at the end below:  ...."If he misses his division's BattleStations, then when he passes the run, he will go through with another division, even if it is one in the next PIR group going the night before your PIR."

Comment by diannep on August 21, 2012 at 1:32pm

sandr:  Yes, still plan to go.  First of all, he will have more chances to pass the run before PIR.  The rest of this week and next week.  If he has not passed it by next week, they usually will let you visit with your SR for a couple of hours on PIR Day.  But he actually has a chance to pass it through Wed morning of next week. They are good about allowing the visits, knowing that plans are in place by the families.  So, yes, we always advise the families to still go to PIR.  Not only do you need to see your SR, but your SR needs to see you!  I have never heard of a family regretting that they did this.  Gives both sides the "boost" that they needed.

But remember...he still has time to pass before then.  Several more chances!  Fingers crossed and prayers abound!  If he misses his division's BattleStations, he when he passes the run--he will go with another group, even the one from the next PIR group going through the night before PIR.

Hi Diannep - My son has not yet passed the run test - I was looking at some old info and you had said for people to go anyway to PIR if they have not passed yet.  If he is delayed I would like to do that - If I could see him for a few hours and encourage him.  Is that still true - would they still let me in to the PIR?
