Yes, Jenn you are right. Week one, day three.

Comment by Jenn(RJs Mom) Ship 09 Div 273 on July 16, 2012 at 12:14pm

are you saying 1-3 as week one day three , is that what your meaning ? I've seen all these 1-4 1-other numbers just making sure Im reading/thinking it right

Comment by Mrs.SeniorChief on July 16, 2012 at 12:05pm

@GANukeMom, that is what I kind of figured, too. If they started processing on 7/5 since 7/4 was a holiday (my son got there on 7/3), I would think they are on 1-3 day.

Comment by diannep on July 16, 2012 at 11:52am

GANukeMom is correct.  All divisions should be in training week 1 this week.

Comment by CookieGVB on July 16, 2012 at 10:32am

Thanks, Lala - good to know!  :)  I'll be sure to ask him if that's going to be a possibility.

Cookie, this is something they do learn about. It is set up with paper work at their A-school base and I am not sure if they call the recruiters office or email them. Then once they have completed that time with the recruiter the paperwork is signed off on and sent to their new base or whoever is in charge of them. That's why I am unsure about it being the same for the undesignated Sailors. Just be sure and mention this to your Sailors and make sure they get the paperwork from A-school before they come home.

Sally/Alex - My son is also in as Undesignated.  They're in different divisions, but both should be headed to A school in Great Lakes after PIR.

Lala - how do they arrange with the recruiter to work during the day?  Do they know this is a possibility before they leave, or do they find out after the fact?  I'd heard about this before, but didn't see too many details.  Thanks.

Comment by GANukeMom(EM mom) on July 16, 2012 at 9:45am

They should be around 1-2 to 1-4 from what I've read.

Comment by Mrs.SeniorChief on July 16, 2012 at 9:42am

Does anyone have any idea where they might be in their weekly training schedule?

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on July 16, 2012 at 9:35am

Sally I agree with what Dianne has said. I have had a couple friends with undesignated seamen and airmen and they both had fairly short training periods before they went on to their "hands-on" training. They basically have to phase up which normally takes 3 or 4 weeks. Then home for a bout 10 days to 2 weeks. While they are home they usually can spend a few hours during the week days to work with their recruiter and then those days don't count towards their leave. I know this is true for those coming home after A-school but I am not completely sure if it is the same for those who are undeignated.

Good morning everyone :)
