I'm with you on that one nursecat...today started out fine, but dissolved into tears and a general feeling of loss for me...grief is not a good look on me.

And of course, the hubs is NO help...he's having a hard time understanding my feelings, and rarely shows his own.

Trying to stay positive, write those letters, pull jokes and other funnies from the web and keep busy...like you said, One day at a time.

Still no letter today. I'm trying to wait patiently but I'm not a patient person by nature, LOL! Today has been a rough day, I've cried several times & I dont really even know why. This is the most I've cried so far.  I just want to know that my son is doing well I guess. Just trying to remind myself to take it one day at a time & think postive! My son is a strong outstanding young man so I know he is doing well! Thank you all for this site, it helps so much to know that other mom's feel this way too!

yeah, sometimes you get lucky but sometimes you may have to drive a couple hours or so to a airport where they offer a better price :-)

Hello & welcome new members! Wow the group is growing so fast! I am so happy to have a place to talk to other moms in my son's PIR group!

We got the box yesterday! No form letter yet, but I called the recruiter and she gave me the address. My SR is ship 9, DIV 273. I'm guessing his PIR is 8/31/12. Is anyone else Ship 9/ DIV 273?
Comment by CookieGVB on July 11, 2012 at 6:51pm

Thanks for the tip, Lala - lowest one way fare for my area is $150.

Please feel free to start your Division Discussions up above in the Discussion Forum.

How to add a Discussion - Go to the bottom left corner of the Discussion Forum area (It's actually just above the comment box here.) and click "Add a Discussion".

Fill in the Title and any description you like.

For DIV discussion Titles a suggestion would be:

SHIP ##/ DIV ### (or you may have your Discussions as Brother Divisions and post both Divisions in the Title. Start with the odd number first SHIP ## / DIV ### and ###. They are usually on the same SHIP…but if it is different, then post that too!)

Simple as that! Then the other members from your div can reply and you can connect up even closer there.

Please, only one discussion per Division, Thanks!

Remember that you are ALL part of this TG though and to stay on the main pages to talk here too! Plus, we veteran moms mostly stay on the main pages of the groups. There are 7-8 PIR groups running at one time and so we do not get to the DF's as much. We do check them as often as we can...OPSEC rules apply there also.

Right now I see 269, (270); 271, 272...and so on! 942 and 818 will have their own Discussions.

Tawk amungst yeselves on who starts the Discussion LOL!

Congrats on the Form Letters...looking forward to hearing about more!

I just saw an advertisement on TV for a Nationwide Sale at Southwest Airlines. They are running a special for one way flights for only $69.00. You have to book at Southwest.com and the promotion is called their "Nationwide Sale" they are book flights all over the country for that price. Check and see if an airport close enough to you flies Southwest. They don't have a charge for 2 checked bags and they don't charge a change fee if you have to change your tickets. You would only have to pay the difference in the cost of the flight. This is a great deal and they fly into more than one airport in the Chicago/Milwaukee area. Here is the link http://www.southwest.com/
