Will be praying for you tsnavymom and everyone in the path of the storm. I would get the car early too - you will feel better knowing you will not have a problem. I hope your area does not have to evacuate but will watch for it and pray for your family.
I surely hope something happens with this storm soon! If it keeps on like it is, it will be hitting here Wednesday. I was due to get the rental car that day, but I am going to see if I can get it tomorrow or Tuesday; otherwise I don't know if they will be open Wednesday. They announce who has to evacuate tomorrow. Please say prayers or whatever that it gets through quickly, if it has to come. I can't believe this is happening just when I am supposed to be excited only about PIR.
sandrar/Adamsproudmama> Thanks so much. Most of the storm is by us now...wasn't bad. I have taken some of my shutters off and regrouped the furniture/plants on my patio. Wind gusts and rain bands was the most we got....no hurricane strength winds, thank goodness. We are ok now....just winding down. I just took a mile walk with my dogs in the neighborhood and all looks well, except for a couple of branches down. We feel very blessed! Keep praying for those yet to feel the effects of this storm. It is to have a long life....continuing through the week....
Yes, many lost power, but thankfully, I still have mine. Hoping that all are back up and running with power soon!
Thanks so much for the prayers, ladies!
Prayers continuing for Dannep - Please let us know when you are back on line and ok. sounds like everyones power is out.
Good morning ladies,
Dianne, I just want to let you know you are in my prayers for this week. I pray that you and your family come through this safely. Remember, Sailors know how to weather storms and I know you are one too!
AMOMMSO, sorry to hear you haven't gotten a call yet. My SR called his girlfriend when he got to make his first call, so we didn't hear from him for 7 weeks. It was so sweet to hear his voice when he did call. He then called 2 days later with the "I'm a Sailor" call. The feeling is definitely the best one ever! Hang in there! You'll get your call!
Have a terrific week Ladies! This week will be the slowest one in history I'm sure!!
Til Friday,
AMOMMSO: It would be nice if the winners of Captains Cup at least were guaranteed phone calls, but it doesn't happen often. I am so sorry that you haven't heard from him yet....but that I'm a Sailor call will be the best! AND....at this point in bootcamp...NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS and they are progressing. You should get a wonderful call on Tues afternoon!
Jodi....HA! Yes, Navy moms have to be tough....for sure! I have been pretty stubborn most of my life...learned it from my mom! I have been widowed for 11 yrs and learned very quickly to do lots on my own if I wanted it done (had already done lots on my own....but now with hubby gone, yikes!).
Anyway, we are WOMEN, HEAR US ROAR! I can say that it is amazing what each of us can do when we HAVE to do it. Never say never!
So far, squally weather, but not too bad yet. Worst is to come later today. We are under a tornado watch until 5 pm....ugh....sure hope we don't get any of those. Those were the "killers" during Hurricane Andrew and what caused so much destruction in our area.
Have a wonderful Sunday, all! Just saw were already 4,500 in our area are without power. Geeez....it isn't even bad yet, so that's not a good sign! :-)
