Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Comment by Oregon Mom on July 25, 2013 at 12:16pm: Ship 14 Div 336- I got a letter & he sounds great! I am crying again but they are tears of relief and joy. He was made a Yeoman (I am not sure what that is). His div is integrated so they are in same compartment as div 335. He had his swim test Monday. He even made a joke about me not killing his dog - which I haven't done, yet! Thanks everyone for the support. I hope you all get a letter or a phone call. God bless our SR's & Sailors!

the waiting is such torture, I surely hope you get your letter today - its been a week today since i got my first letter and I am chomping at the bit to get another one.

I am not one to check the mail ever, and I now cannot hardly wait to get home to check it!!!

Dad, Mommy and baby Eastyn are doing fine, they will have to stay in the hospital 48 hours because Loran tested positive for Strep-B but they should be just fine. Please keep them in your prayers. Also, My mom was admitted to ICU back in NC and has fluid on her lungs and possibly a blood clot so please keep her and my dad in your thoughts and prayers as well. Thanks so much <3 Here is a pic of Eastyn :) She is simply beautiful!!!
