~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

SouthernCalimom Ship 13 Div 333:The MO is Macamerson son. =)
Tammy: Some of the new sailors will fly out early on Saturday morning, others will have a longer wait. Your sailor won't know travel details until PIR week. Some will be waiting most of the day. They are all bussed out together in the very early morning hours. No, they don't arrive in time to "just board the plane." There is a wait! There are tons of sailors flooding the airports and it takes a while to process all in. The USO is involved with that and will be a big help to families out there too.

Remember, the passwords in your letters are not to be shared...and they may differ from other passwords for other SRs/divisions. We have never determined the system of assigning them, but we know they are assigned, not picked by the SRs.
Your SRs may actually write to you on Navy stationery. That is what my son did. They have some available to them. I included extra paper/envelopes in one letter and he didn't use them because he liked the Navy stationery.
grateful: Your son sounds like mine! On his 1st birthday, he did a very long HUMMMMM.....over and over again.....words started right after that and he became very verbal, very fast! He has never stopped talking either! Teachers were not always thrilled with this....although he was a class clown so some had to duck their heads to hide their laughter! :-)
Good Morning All !
We haven't received a letter yet but I'm not surprised as I didn't get stamps and stationery in the mail to SR until last Friday. The form letter was mailed to his girlfriend who was kind enough to mail a copy to us -- that delayed info to us for a bit. We did receive a phone call last Saturday. SR sounded fine but was not a wealth of information.
I'm choosing not to be worried about him. Over the years I've learned two lessons: (1) Don't borrow worries from tomorrow; and (2) No news is good news.
For those of you who have received letters, thank you so much for sharing what's happening in your child's division. I can only speak for my son -- I am not surprised that Div 333 is reported to be a chatty group. As a baby, my son did not talk for a long time, but once he started he never stopped. :)
I hope everyone here receives a letter in the mail today. This is a challenging time for parents but a rewarding one as well.
Also, if you use the link I give below and go to Families-Contact Your Recruit you will have the mailing address for your recruit. I checked and it matches the address given in the form letter. At least you can write this way.
Hi Zachsmom94-my son is also on ship 3 div 338 and the form letter was postmarked on July 15 and arrived on July 19. The letter started off with a greeting from Captain John Dye. It gives a website for information as follows: http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil. Mailing address and graduation date confirmation of 06Sep2013 is next. The letter then gives password and guest list along with many details on graduation. It talks briefly about transfers after RTC. Hope this helps and I hope your letter arrives very soon.
