~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

My son is on ship 14 div 336 and we did receive his form letter on Friday (19), postmarked the 16th.  We are in Colorado.  Unfortunately, I have no advice as to what to do.

I am assuming when my son spelled STIX he was meaning Sticks?  He also said he was a section leader? and a Petty Officer for something (I cant read his writing) it looks like laundry?  Any help on this?  Thanks

Will I have much time with my son the day after PIR in the airport when he leaves for Pensacola (all I need it enough to give him laptop and cell phone and a huge hug). Once again hearing "advice" from my sig other who is telling me my son will get to the airport just in time to board the plane. I am so ready to cry.

Where is everyone finding this questionnaire? I'm still waiting on the form letter and a letter from my SR. I've come to find i'm a horrible waiter!! I would just like to know something.....anything. If you have a loved one in Ship 3 Div 338, can you please pass along any information on what they said for those of us who have not received a letter yet? Thank you.

Ctz3.....you should very soon. Let me know when you get the news. I reread my questions I sent him. I asked him " Tell me something about your chief petty officer and I got just a sad face drawn ...lol the 1st 2 weeks, they are far from your best friends...lol

SouthernCalimom:  To funny to hear what your son says!  Div 333 likes to talk and joke a lot!  My husband always told him life is much better if you have a sense of humor.  He never mentioned they liked to talk and joke but I'm sure that is why he is liking BC so much, makes him not miss home so much.  I hope they don't get punished for it either. So glad to hear news from others in his Div Thanks!

I really hope so.

Mindy:  Yep!  A "stick" is a flag holder!  Right in front of the division for PIR and very visible!  YAH!

bchis:  Hoping that maybe tomorrow is "your day" for a letter!  :-)

My son sent the questionnaire that I printed out from this site. He told me who his his bunk mate is , best friend he made , says div 333 likes to talk and joke a lot! ( hope they don't get punished for it all) . He also said he appreciates the news that I am printing off of cnn and his sports updates. I print out a couple pages of news and then write around the paper a few words of encouragement. Says it feels weird being cut off from everything . Says his good friend he met is the mail PO.

I'm so proud of this kid he just put the largest smile on my face can't wait for more letters, phone calls, and graduation!!
