For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Comment by C95mom on July 18, 2013 at 1:40am: Received our form letter Tuesday. My SR is in ship 3 Div 338. PIR 09-06. Thank you for all the helpful information from this site. The first week he left I thought I was losing my mind. It helps now to write him and count down the days to PIR.

thanks for your help, I will be checking this. And for Donna, today I received the box what this mean I have to wait a week for that letter. my Son left on Jul 10th also.

Comment by ellen0502 on July 18, 2013 at 1:09am: blessedmom, It is very possible that this is the correct group for divisions 341, the M just means an all male division and is not needed or used for the address.

The RTC will probably post division numbers for this TG at the beginning of next week. Stay here with this group and if you find out it is the wrong group you can leave this group an join the next one.

My husband and I are driving to Great Lakes, so we won't need to make flight arrangements...but the hotel info is very helpful. Thanks!

Comment by Tammy - Ship 3 Div 338 on July 17, 2013 at 10:06pm: I got my form letter today and am so excited but the ZIP plus 4 is different than what the recruiter told me so am concerned the letters I sent already will get returned. Ship 3 Div 338. Looking forward to meeting other parents with kids in same division. To be honest this is one of the hardest things I have had to deal with as a parent, but at the same time I am so very proud of him for his decision. Kinda feels like an emotional roller coaster. :-)
