Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Does anyone know if the Navy Lodge has hair dryers?  I don't wanna have to pack one but need to make sure they have them like the hotels do.

Just received SR's navy coin (PIR gifts) in the mail today!!!!  It's breathtakingly beautiful and made this mama cry (happy tears).   So happy to have the opportunity to give this to him in a few weeks........

Being cut off is not the business !! Sharla, I so hope and pray you get a call today ...
Comment by Sharla on August 3, 2013 at 10:37am

JordanMom I didn't get one either, and you're right.  I keep praying for a random call today....just to hear her voice and know that all is okay.  Her last letter was short and miserable and I really need to just hear her say "That was just a bad day, mom, I'm good."  Then I could move on with my own day and know she's handling things.  But the bad letter coupled with no call when the rest of her division called on Thursday.....has me a soggy mess for the last two days.  I can't seem to focus on anything I need to do.  Praying for strength.  For all of us.  Being cut off is the hardest thing I know many of us have ever had to go through.
