~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Question.....Is there anyway to find out if a certain ship has its own "colors" and if so what's they are?

Colleen:  Hoping for a "surprise" call for you!  They do earn calls at times....so you never know!

Good Morning, All !  Hope all have a great weekend!

Hey Katie D, I am from Albany N.Y. I got your facebook friend request and your message. Thanks for reaching out to me. I didn't get a call last night I am hoping for a call today but I'm not getting my hopes up, he told me not to expect it for a few weeks. :(

Great questionnaire!  I've pasted it in Word, tweaked a couple of ?'s to fit her, and will print that out to send with today's letter.  Great idea and I love the teamwork boost at the end.  :)    I've sent mine this picture.  I love it.  I hope she does too.  She's not highly outgoing, or one to be in a big group of friends...she's an introvert, and will find one friend to bank everything on, and that will be her bestie.  On occasion, she's thrived in a small group, but that's rare.  She's like me in that regard.  So this picture resonated with me, and I hope it will with her too.

@LalaRibbonQueenPIR Ribbons - thanks so much for the great questionnaire! Love it, I just print it out to send to my son today. I did another one earlier on - it's the most information I received from him -lol. And I think he likes it cause he's not much of a writer -- but he does remember to tell me to keep on writing!

Good morning everyone, now that your recruits are past the halfway point here is a great questionnaire that I made when my daughter was in boot camp. It has a great paragraph of encouragement to help them with battle stations and it is pretty funny and should make them laugh. You can copy and paste it and tweak it to make it right for you. It is in the discussions above. I hope you like it :)

I will get a name next time for DIV 338 from my boy. I didn't think to ask. My son been sick for 2 weeks :( his spleen was removed at age 4, so he gets sick easy if anyone around him is sick!!

ALnavywife:  If at RTC, it is usually 8 or 9 pm.  For those who have moved over to GL A School, it could be anywhere from 8 pm to 10 pm, from what we have heard.

zachsmom:  Just a heads up that last names of the SRs cannot be posted here, but if someone on here hears a first name of a SR who had an issue, that name is allowed to be posted.  Unfortunately, they know each other by last names so most SRs many not even know the first names!  Just know that if a SR is asmoed (setback) for any reason....medical or otherwise....you will get a call.  Sometimes they have medical issues that don't result in a setback and in that case, you most likely would not be notified.

Wow! Thanks for all the great info, as usual. BridgetTheBrit.... Thank you. I hope all your clearance issues get resolved successfully. Considering what we were asked, I can't imagine if we were from a different country. Good luck! I'm sure it will be fine :)
1NavySon... My SR will be going into Information Tech. in FL. Guess that would explain all the thorough security checks. I just didn't expect it. She's only 17. Can't even buy a lottery ticket ;)
But yes it was a Federal Investigations Sevice contracted out, not Military.
Hooray, for those who got call tonight!
