Good morning Dyl's mom! Yes, at least in San Diego, H&R Block will do their taxes for free ...... sooo .....I would guess probably true on all bases. I like the shared cheat sheet idea (we wouldn't sound so stupid, or old!) ..... I think that those of us that are left here will most likely keep coming .... or at least I want to believe that!! :)
i meant to put "cheat sheet"..... wow! maybe i should go back to bed!
i love these animal pics! they're soooo cute! i just love animals....wish i could have been you nicole when you went horse back riding! i love horses! they're just beautiful! i don't really care for the poop though! ha!
aj...i'm with you on getting things mixed up. i have a hard time keeping up with who's kid is doing what. i try to remember but not my strong suit. a cheat is a good idea. maybe someone with a good memory could make one to share?
Iris...glad you get to see your daughter soon! how exciting! i remember how excited i was when dyl's came home at xmas! it was like getting an early xmas present and i couldn't wait! you're going to have soooo much fun! keep us posted on all the fun!
mary.... dyl's has already sent me his w2 from the navy and want's me to do his taxes. i'm like, really? i think they can get them done for free somewhere on base but he doesn't want to "stand in line". ugh! i hate doing my own taxes, why would i enjoy doing his?! grrrrr. maybe i can get him to send me a sweatshirt for it or something. we'll see.
so yesterday was so beautiful here.... i think it got up to 70. i packed some snacks for yogi and i and we headed to the lake. they have great bike paths, etc. we watched the wind surfers (soo cool) and saw tons of other dogs. i am soooo ready for spring/summer! now that football season is almost over, i'm ready to be outside having fun!
this is one of my dads dogs, bear..laying with his crutches. hahah..what a ham.
this is my aunts 10 year old ham black lab named gabby. she's ADORABLE.
meanwhile, i've been looking at trucks & finding some REALLY nice ones....fallin in love? you betcha. this girl drives trucks!!!
it's still COLD here in illinois, and i just got home from bareback riding at my friends horse barn..yes..i went horseback riding when it's below 32 degrees at 10 pm without a saddle.....i have some country in me for sure.
however, i didn't have my boots, so i rode in my tennis shoes...and they're covered in horse sh*t....that's the price you pay. ahah.
Ah! I go away for a little while and all of a sudden it's puppies and raccoons. Too much cuteness. SO jealous. I already have an appt set to go visit my Willa-beast when we're back in Texas for a visit in May. How pathetic is that. I didn't want to torture her with the travel and quarantine when we moved here but man do I miss her. A good friend has her and promises I can have her back.
Sounds like plenty of good news going around - very happy for everyone, though AJ, it really does sound like he realizes he screwed up about the Family Day. All part of the learning right? I bet he wants you there next time.
Not much news here. A is doing good, says his Sr Chief likes him and he's still being encouraged. His Chief even said he'd recommend him for another role on the Constitution which warms my heart. So fingers crossed he gets a rate here in a few months and either gets to OCS or the Constitution so he can start the long run to Admiral :) If neither of those come through at least he fully understands the importance of taking charge of his own life and career so it's all good.
We've had cooties in the house since New Years Day. Hubbie's been ill most of Jan and I've had two bouts of ick. Coughed up a lung for about a week and am still recovering - thus AWOL from the board.
Have a great weekend y'all! And just to enhance the cute:
A Monday has never been sweeter, eh Iris?! Those are the best words .... 'Haley will be home MONDAY!' ...... so happy for you girl .... and of course we expect you to spend every second with her. We'll try to keep the home fires burning here for your joyous return as you can. How long will she be home?
d o - sorry again - I clearly need a cheat sheet by my computer to keep everyone's info straight. It is beyond good ... it is great ..... that you guys can forewarn your Sailors about your hopes and expectations about cruise days and such ... glad that I can help you know in advance.
Heading out for a couple of errands - great Saturdays to all.
Morning Ladies! I've got Rainbows!!!!!
The sun is shining, I'm starting to feel more human and Haley will be home MONDAY! Hopefully you will all forgive me if I won't be on for a little while. I want to enjoy every second with her. Spazz alert!!!! That's me until she gets here. Lol....
AJ - Oh honey, my heart goes out to you. I'd be just miserable and in tears if that happened to me. I'm afraid I'm going to get a taste of it with my son also. I think it's the way they "cut the apron strings" so to speak. But, really! Sounds like he regrets that decision. Wish I was closer, I'd be there drinking margarita's with you. Huge Hugs coming your way. Hope you are feeling less down. =)
Dyl,s Mom - OMG!!!! He's so CUTE! I got a kitten to help me. Lol.... we certainly need to mom something huh? I ran into a girl I use to volunteer with at Chintimini Wildlife Rehabilation Center and told her I'd LOVE to have me some racoons this year. I foster them and skunks.I'm trying to pull some pics from my old drive to post. They are just the most loving, adorable, cute things ever.
So I really don't have a bunch. I am going to Lunarfest tonight. It's aN event that raises money for cancer research. I think it has like 10 independent short films for us to watch. Anyhow, I'm going with my friend Karen. Trying to stay busy this weekend in order for it not to just slug by. =)
That's it girls. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and report back when you can. Love you all, hugs and rainbows!
I pressed the add button to soon.
Iris are you still shooting rainbows?
That is the cutest photo of a puppy that I've seen in a long time! Does it have white boots on the fourth paw too?

y sailor's FRIEND is on the Enterprise-just to clear it up. My sailor is out there in SD too. He's working on getting petty officer sometime next month. His school is kind of separate from the ships, so he hasn't heard about the family cruise. I hinted to him how disappointed I'd be if there was a cruise and he didn't invite me. Hopefully that planted a seed that he'll remember when the time comes. Thanks for the springboard of conversation AJ. I know it's not the "good" that would come out of it, you had in mind, but I think it definitely helped us have that out in the open in advance.
