AJ - thank you much!!
Mary - yes, it helps to memorize things ahead of time! they take you MUCH more seriously.
Most important person in my life...I don't know. All of my family is pretty equally important.
Grandma - She corrects the bad lessons my dad teaches me.
Aunt - She's like my sister mom and friend mixed into one. She's the one who knows EVERYTHING.
Mom - She passed when I was 3, and taught me so much in such a little time. To always keep my chin up and keep going, the little things now, will be nothing to me later. Let nothing stop you and fight your hardest.
Dad - Him and I didn't talk from January 30th 2010 until December 14th 2010. Not a word to eachother. Him and I are growing close again..& I'm thankful. He's being the dad he wasn't when I was little...Making up for it in a way. He taught me to let NO ONE walk all over me.
Grandpa - Taught me to dedicate myself.
Grandma from Texas - Taught me to not judge anyone. Give everyone a chance, then make your decisions.
My Uncle - He's probably my biggest role model..he taught me to never go down. Things can try to break you but family is forever.
The most important person in my life...well, there are a LOT of them...haha, but my husband! :) Then TJ. :)
Good Morning!!!!
AJ - love the shopping list. See how helpful it was. Mary needed TP and you reminded her before she became stranded on the potty. I'm with you on being ready for spring. Another, grumble grumble, gray, foggy, damp day. Sunshine, oh sunshine, wear art thou??? I think I'd take snow with the possibility of sunshine over what we get. I think I'm starting to mold. Stay warm! I've never heard the little face pads being called Swisspers. Brand name? What kind of cheese did you get? I LOOOOOVE cheese. We have swiss, gouda, sharp white cheddar and a medium cheddar in the fridge as we speak. My diet book should be here Thursday and Friday I plan on starting. It's a combination, no sugar or processed flour, diet. It has a 5 day cleanse that ought to be interesting. Lol.....
Well no new news from Haley. I did chat with her and Travis yesterday. He's such a doll. He has a really quirky sense of humor and likes to laugh. That's a definite plus in my book. I look forward to hopefully meeting him in person when we visit Hawaii in May, if he's not out on a hump (my husbands word for a 6 month deployment). Watch out ladies, I'm starting to get some of this military lingo down. Apparently you swear a lot too, so I will fit right in. My husband says I have a potty mouth. He's probably right, I did grow up on a ranch, surrounded by lots of cowboys and my grandfather, who I can thank for some of my more colorful language. I idolized my grandfather - he and I would go fishing together when we could. I have his boat which he named "Iris". I'm going to be restoring it this summer. Its a 1953 turquoise with a canopy. So freakin cool. He bought it after we got caught in a monsoon like storm during one fishing trip in his old metal boat without a cover. I still had a blast, but apparently my grandfather.....not so much.
Okay I'm throwing out a conversation starter. Tell us about the most important people in your life.
I'll add my Nana tomorrow.
Can't wait to hear all the stories. Hugs and happy day to you all.
I know it is kind of late in the day, but I thought I would make a better effort in joining in here once again. But here's the kicker, I have nothing to say.
So what does one talk about when they is nothing? ..... weather! Ok, snow is coming again tonight ... ugh. Way ready for spring. And then Iris says 'even your shopping list' ........... ok, I need toilet paper, Swisspers (those round cotton pads that you use to clean your face), cheese, and cereal.
I'm excited for you Sondra for your trip to San Diego. Take pictures of what you can for this non-San Diego bound mom.
Iris - hope you enjoyed your coffee and conversation with your friend. Sorry about all of that stuff with your dad .... and oh please, don't let him suck any of your optimism, joy, and general wonderfulness out of you!
Mary - you have a gift of sharing the craziness of life in such a humor-filled and real way ...... I see this cartoon in my mind now of you stealhily (is that a word) going through the house and their bedrooms (in full Peg Bundy attire of course) stealing all of their stuff and hiding it on purpose ........... just so you can be accused, yelled at, have to help them find it, replace it, etc. AND we know how much hard work you put into fixing up the basement before Dereck came home ... and to think that all of your hard work is being undone ...... Ahhhhhhh! I didn't realize that you were a massage therapist (just read your post on FB) ..... I would so come to see you if you were close! Go for it! Do the training.
Okay, that's all I've got ....have a good night.
Woo Hoo... what a reading Bonazza today! Good Morning and Happy Tuesday!
Mary - my fellow laundry Goddess. Keep washing those pretty panties and manties (men's underware) and may the Peggy Bundy never go out of style. =) Lol... I want pics! You know you should get yourself one of those Lone Ranger masks and just wear that around the house. Oh and don't forget the gloves, can't have you leaving prints. And your poor basement. Oh... the inhumanity! Hang in there sunshine. I just got a letter from my father. Basically my parents are crazy. Seriously, I think they've both gone over the edge. That wonderful Christmas Party we had for the family. Yeah apparently it was horrific. The stuff my Dad writes is joy sucking, bitter, self pity, victim, crap and well I just want to reply.... "Waaaaaa.....". Nothing we did was right. How I came from him, I have no idea. I think I'll go with adoption or milk man. He ended his letter with "I'm sitting here in my little room, sucking air, all alone. I've outlived my usefulness." Ah... such optimism. That's my Dad. He's as down as I'm up. Polar opposites. Anyhoo... I thought you could take some solace that your family only thinks you steal where mine thinks I am neglectful, lying, greedy, uncivilized, heathen. =) Gotta laugh!
AJ - I'm so glad you wrote. Son separation. Ouch! Mine is doing a bit of that right now. He's 16. It's tough cause you want that snuggly little boy back that needed and wanted you. Now, well, they are men (in the making) and need separation from us to mature and grow into strong, healthy, capable men. It's what we want, but the process sucks! Hang in there and yes I'd be happy to point my butt in your direction. I'll keep you posted to when the rainbows start coming. And just a FYI, no beans necessary.... enough said. =) I'm sorry you aren't going to be able to make the cruise. Sound like it'd be a blast. Look forward to next year when he's homesick and worked out all the bugs in his independence. I think they just get hyper sensitive to being called a mama's boy by their shipmates. I know you probably know all the logical explination for everything that's going on but emotionally it's tough. We're here for you sweets. Hugs and happy thoughts heading your way. Oh those should be there before the rainbows just so you know you won't be needing a bucket just yet.
Nicole - Come on December.... Cool on the CO's "sharp" comment. That's definitely motivational and should help keep you focused. Not that I think you need it. You know I think you are the bee's knee's (a little historical slang there - google it, or ask your grandma). =) Keep up the hard work and we need some pics - I'm sure you are starting to look like Demi Moore in GI Jane. Hotza!!!!
Sondra - Hope you can make that cruise. It sounds incredibly fun. Smooth flight - you'll be just fine. Ah a little additional tip. Don't listen to Alanis Morrisette during the flight. She has a song on her first album that just won't help your nerves. Enjoy your visit with Eric. =) And be sure to tell us all about the sunshine when you get back.
Well, I'm having coffee and conversation with a friend today so off to the shower.
Have a great day and I will post the Haley update tomorrow after I Skype with her today. She is now calling me her personal stalker. I'm so proud!
Hugs and Love to all.
Sonda - have a wonderful trip this weekend - wow, it has been a while since you've seen Eric .............. that would be so cool if they were on the same ship! Aaron leaves pretty soon too (but, oops I can't say more) ..... he is excited about all of the countries he will get to on this first deployment ..... it is kind of amazing really. I forget where you are flying from .... I know you are nervous about the flying part, but you might really, really like it and then we'll be having "Where's Sondra?' contests on here ....... just keep breathing, chew gum like Iris already shared ..... bring along some music that you like to listen to or a good book, and you'll be there seeing Eric before you know it. Geez, we could have hooked up this weekend if I had received that elusive 'son - yes I have a mother clearance' ..... sorry that I'm going to miss that opportunity to see you in sunny SD. Let us know how it goes for you. :)
Mary - you know it - bribing and beer, etc. And yes, it seems quite clear to me that you were and are a phenomenal mother!
