Hi Ladies, just checking in to see how everyone is doing! Been really busy and have had a fussy baby a lot, along with dealing with a new home, bills, etc. :)
My NY's resolution is to find some friends to spend time with! I haven't had "girl" time in about 2 years, literally. The only person I have hung out with is my husband and I'd like to find some friends to do "girl" things with! LOL
Morning Ladies!
Well Berta (Roomba) is busily taking care of the living room, dining room and if it manages to get over the hump between the kitchen and dining room, then the kitchen too. I think I'm breaking out in a sweat just watching it. Lol....
So today Haley graduates. Woo Hoo.... I will hopefully find out Tuesday what her flight plans are. Can't wait, can't wait. I'm already investigating good places to stay in Hawaii. She'll do some reconnaissance for me when she gets there. I'm now thinking we should go before school gets out so the rates are better and Cody misses only 4 days if we use Memorial Day weekend and it's my birthday then too, so Happy Birthday to ME! It's also right before finals so this will take some good planning on our partwe are not hurting Cody's GPA. Anyhoo.... wiggle wiggle, giggle giggle kind of day.
Nicole - LOVE your resolution. You are kicking butt and taking names this year, huh! Some day we will just have to meet. I think you have such great energy and personality. We'd probably have a dork fest. Lol....Oh and thanks for the intel on the Xbox. =) I'll be a dancing fool.... lol
Sondra - I'm so sorry you didn't get your sailor for the Holiday's. Me neither and it was just weird, wrong, difficult, sad... you name it. Just didn't feel right. But we have to adjust, so now we look forward. Wow I can't believe how fast they are deploying your son. I certainly hope he'll be safe and enjoy his adventure. What Mary said is probably your best bet in finding the best prices and not a dive. I'd have your son secure it for the military discount if possible. Every little bit helps. Good luck and have a fantastic visit.Oh and about the flying, get a stick of gum to chew for the take off and landing and just relax. It's a funny sensation at first, but not horrible. I just started flying just a few years ago (I'm afraid of heights, roller coasters, deep water that I can't see the bottom, latex balloons... etc...Yeah I have some issues. ) so understand your anxiety. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how much it's not a big deal. Good Luck!!!!
Well, I need another cup of coffee and then to get showered and this show on the road. No big plans today except date night with my one and only. I need to figure out what we are doing.
Hugs to you all, have a great weekend and may the sun shine on you today. =)
iris - get the xbox 360 kinect..SO MUCH awesomeer than the WII(:
you don't need ANY controllers, you just show yourself infront of the sensor and its recognizes you and its controller less! so fun!
congrats to haley & travis!!! SO happy for them!!!!!
my resolution....GET NO TICKETS, NO ACCIDENTS, AND workout EVERY day. oh..did i mention pull all A's & B's? i'm stiving for a whole year of all A's & B's! first semester check! second semester..GOTTA DO IT! I foundout my GPA is 3.227..which is pretty good my recruiter said. i'm striving for a 3.5 but the end of the year!
Morning ladies -
Good News!!! Haley is done and will graduate on the 14th. Now we are just waiting to hear when she'll fly home. Also, Travis got Orders for HAWAII. Yahoo.... Haley is so happy and so is Travis. What a pair of down in the mouth kids they were when they were thinking he wasn't going to get it. Now they are on cloud 9. Haley has a plan since she is going to be over there a month before him. She said "Mom I'm gonna work my butt off and get a tan so I'm smokin' hot for him when he get's there". Lol.... She apparently got a little soft over the holidays. So, that's the update from Pensacola.
My Roomba is happily cleaning my living room, dining room and kitchen and Audrey the kitten is playing with the Roomba. Lol.... I love having an electronic maid. I named it Berta after "Two & 1/2 Men" character, Berta who is the sassy maid. Love that show. Also "How I Met Your Mother". Lilly and Barney are awesome character's. As you can tell I've had time on my hand while doing treatment. Lol.... Almost done.
Lyn - Soooooo glad to hear you are alright. Things look scary and horrible for the west coast. Thinking of all those affected. 3 weeks of family, how awesome was that? Sorry your son couldn't of hooked up with everyone. Ah... life and it's little wrinkles.
Mary - a wreck free year is a great New Years Resolution. What is your take on the Wi? Is it worth it. I'm intrigued to get it for the dancing stuff. I figured on these cold, damp days, that might be fun to do.
Nicole - Thanks!!!! What's yours?
Oh one more tidbit. Haley was point 2 points from being honors. That's my little smarty pants. =))))
Well, nothing else happening here, OH sorry.... News Flash..... It's raining. Lol...... If you don't laugh, you'll cry from all this gray. Vitamin D here I come.
Hope all of you have a lovely day and someone else needs to ramble on too. Geez... don't you get tired of my going on and on..... =)
Hugs to you all, stay warm in this crappy weather and have a nice cup of coco with MARSHMELLOW's (right Nicole?).
Hi all! We're fine over here in OZ because we're on the west coast rather than "over east" as they call it where the floods are. Thanks for asking!
Had daughter and her bf here for the past 3 weeks, sent them home at midnight Saturday and they have JUST NOW (its Wed here) arrived back in TN. I've been up in the wee hours every single night booking hotels, alternate flights, etc etc. They were trapped in Los Angeles for nearly 3 days and even then I finally just bought them tickets on a different airline avoiding Atlanta and got them to Knoxville TN so they can drive home to Johnson City.
Of course my son in San Diego who might have entertained them just happened to be on leave and was, you guessed it, in TN. He's supposed to leave TN today to head back to San Diego. Weather permitting, because seriously people - what the heck is going on with weather everywhere!!?! A real shame he and his sister couldn't meet up :-( I am ready to get back to whatever normal is for sure.
That's the best resolution I've ever heard Iris. Seriously. Ever :-)
Hope everyone is doing good!
I LIKKEEEE THAT RESOLUTION IRIS!
HAPPY DANCE HAPPY DANCE(:
Morning Ladies. Sorry I've been awol... life. =)
So Haley should finish up today with her schooling and graduate Friday. Then..... we will find out when she will be home. January is gonna be soooo good. I have 8 more days till I'm done with chemo. Yay, yay... Happy freakin' dance. =)
Okay, so Lyn - hope you aren't being affected by the flooding. Our thoughts are with you. Give us a shout out that you are okay when you can.
Mary - Yay.... that's fantastic. One smart cookie you have there. Congrats!!!!
So everyone is having crummy weather. Stay warm during this crazy time
Maureen - what a great photo. I'm so happy for you. Glad you had your son home for Christmas. Sorry he's going so far away to RI, but on the bright side, this summer.... ROAD TRIP BABY.
Hey Hurley - Happy New Year!!! Hope your headache is gone. Hope things settle down for you and you aren't so busy. We certainly miss you hear. =)
Nicole - My New Years Resolution is to not have cancer anymore. Lol..... I think it's a good solid resolution.
Okay - now for kitten update. She went into heat last week and well, that's been interesting. She's finally mellowing out a bit - thank heavens. We will be getting her spayed soon. Right now she's happily playing with the bubble wrap I have out to wrap my tree in (it's fake) to store it. I tell you, she's an absolute doll. She has taken to my pomeranian Ginger. Ginger isn't very bright and she's very tolerant. Probably cause she's not certain she's a dog. Lol...
Well, as you can tell, not much is going on. I'm putting away the Christmas decore and trying to get my house in order before Haley comes home. I swear I'm just gonna ball when I see her. Emotions are on the edge during chemo. Poor thing, that will make her feel bad. I keep telling her it's just the chemo talking so not to take it to heart. She's worried Travis won't get Hawaii. Until he has orders they just won't know and that won't be until sometime in February. I keep trying to tell her to just play it by ear, but she see's the separation as the end. Kind of sad. Anyhoo... that's about all the news I have.
I need to get ready for a doctor's apt. Woo Hoo....
Stay warm... be happy and have fun.
Hugs!!!!
