Good Morning Ladies ... Well tomorrow is treatment #10. Only two more to go after that. I'm starting to loose some of the dread I feel when approaching treatment day. I'm so close and will be bouncing off the walls when I'm done. =)

Hope you all have had a great weekend. I know some of you have your Sailor's home so can't help but be flying on Cloud 9. Lol.... So, so, sooooooooooooo... happy for you. =)

Nicole - Ah.... Grandma! Well, I have a father of a similar persuasion. It's tough and your right, you have to let most of it just roll off your shoulders. Some people can only see the bad in life (I refer to them as Dementor's) and then there are people like you and me who must be seriously delusional to be so happy in life. At any rate, you know what AJ said is true and probably the best way to handle Grandma. It may not work, but approaching it in a mature and logical manner is probably your best bet with her. And at least you tried. =) Hang in there sunshine, we all love you and know you are doing your best to live your life, your way.

Lyn - SOOOOOO..... Glad you checked in. We've been missing you something awful. You know you don't have to have a lot going on to post. Look at me, I'd write about my grocery list if it's all I had as excitement. Lol....  We just love hearing that people are still here and staying connected. It's like the Hotel California, you can enter, but NEVER LEAVE....muah ha ha ha ha...... Glad you have family coming to visit. And Chocolate peppermint cookies.... oh man.... DROOL! My husband and I just ate a whole package of Keebler chocolate mint waffers (they taste similar to girl scout cookies - Thin Mints). Would love the recipe if you are up to giving it out. =)

Mary - Your homecoming sounds perfect! Give that boy a hug for me cause I just feel like hugging a sailor. =) I'll see if my husband or brother-in-law have any recommendations for shipping a vehicle. I know I saw someone mention it on the Hawaii site. You might go there. They have to ship everything, so I'd say they would be the ones to take advice from. =) Enjoy the rest of your visit with your son.

DO, PatsProudMom, and Dyl's Mom - we are going to put you on Santa's Naughty List for not checking in more often. ;-)))  Hope you are all getting to spend time with your Sailors. Merry Christmas.

Well - I've been cleaning house. Ugh! It's ugly, but I'm making progress. I vacuumed the upstairs and main floor yesterday (when I mean vacuumed, I mean from ceiling to floor with my industrial vacuum cleaner). Then I did dishes, sorted through some books to keep, wrapped some presents, and did a few more things that I can't remember. Lol.. chemo brain. Today I'm cleaning the basement and getting my mountain of laundry put away then Skyping with Haley & my sister Rose at 1500. But first I promised my men some french toast for breakfast. Mmmmm...... It's actually sunshiny today. Don't know how long that will last, but hopefully long enough got my husband and son to get his car finished.

So that's all I have unless you need to know that I'm almost out of Peppermint Creamer so must get more for my morning coffee. I think I have a thing for Peppermint. Lol... Don't tell my husband, Jealous!!!!  Lol....

Love you guys and I'll check in when I can this next week. Hugs and Muah!

If you don't mind my asking LynB - Why are you in Australia/For how long?! That's sooo far! You should post pictures:D

Comment by LynB on December 19, 2010 at 12:32am

Hi All - I've been checking in on everyone's updates but not much to report here.  We're in the Christmas count down and my daughter and her boyfriend should arrive from TN in about 1.5 hours now...after 36 hours of travel.  They left TN at 2PM on Friday and arrive here in Perth AU at 2PM on Sunday.  Bless their hearts.  I've got spaghetti and meatballs cooked & chocolate peppermint cookies baked.

This will be the boyfriend's first Christmas away from home and I'm sure he has no idea that he's going to get the full brunt of my pent up Mom impulses :-)  As for my sailor - no updates lately but I've sent him money so hopefully he can go visit my mom & dad in Florida in the new year when he has leave.  I know he's working over Christmas but I did manage to get a small gift delivered (Amazon said it was delivered Dec 10 but he didn't get it until a week later).  Its so weird to be celebrating Christmas in summer anyway I think it'll all be fine.

Hope everyone has a most wonderful holiday season and New Year!!!

I've never heard of auto transporters, but i've heard of him driving it to his duty station, or trusting a very loyal close friend and giving them gas money and flying them backk...

Thanks AJ!

She just likes to lecture..I've kinda learned to blow it off.

She should, if she already doesn't know how dedicated I am to the Navy and wanting to go into the Navy, and she should know I wouldn't take ANY unneeded chances of being pregnant or anything! Noooo way!

ESPECIALLY not with the fact that we BOTH have the SAME recruiter...HEEEELLL NO. I do NOT wanna be on my death bed before my 18th birthday..nooooo thank youuu.

Nicole - wonderful that you were able to spend the whole day with Christian, including watching movies.  Sorry about Grandma's fears and anxieties coming into such confrontation.  No fun for any of you.  The one thing to remember is that your Grandma loves you to pieces and the only reason she is behaving in this manner is because she is being protective of you .... and doesn't want you to be in a compromising situation.  I know you were only venting your frustration ..... my best advice for you is to have a heart-to-heart talk with your Grandma and explain to her calmly and compassionately that you would not do something like that in her house ..... that you have amazing goals set for yourself .... and that you intend to see those through .... assure her and ask her to trust you ..... you are one smart cookie.  Congratulations on the great exam results!  It is always such a great feeling when final exams are over .... now you can enjoy the holiday.  Give Grandma a hug and thank her for her concern, assure her as I mentioned above .... and enjoy your day.  I assume you will have more time with Christian while he is home?  Have fun dear heart.

Mary - it is kind of incredible how one mother can feel so much by knowing that another of our mothers has their son home.  He is either trying to sleep in right now .... or up with the chickens because that is what he is used to.  What a great day you will have.  Was he impressed with all your hard work in the basement?  Did he eat all the storehouse of pizzas last night?  Did you go into the airport?  I don't think I could just sit outside waiting in the car and have him nonchalantly get in and .... 'oh hey Dereck ... how's it goin .... wassup?' ...... I would be the signs and the hugs and smiles and the dancing in the concourse .............. so I am vicariously feeling your joy today knowing he is in your house ....... have such a great day loving that boy!

I need some coffee, so will check back later.

Soo, Christian just left. He came over and watched movies..of course, my Grandma pretty much had a freak attack and lectured me like NOOO tomorrow. Because the lights were off..(Hmm...MAYBBEEEE, JUUUUST MAYBEEE because we were watching a movie?!) WE WERE IN THE LIVING ROOM. Big deal, we were laying on the same couch...WHOA. SOO TERRIBLE. But, as always, she finds a way to freak out. & CLEARLY nothinggg was going on, because every 5 minutes I was yelling at him for taking my pillow pet...yes..pillow pet..they're the coolest. So he took it from me...and I got mad & tried to get it back! CLEARLY, nothing was going on...yet she insisted on lecturing me....Now..really..maybe it's just me and my common sense butting in again..but I am REAAAALLLYYY not dumb enough to try something IN THE LIVING ROOM, with my Grandma JUST down the hallway...If something was legitimately going to happen, i'm sure you know what I mean...I SURELY wouldn't do so while she was home..Good lord. She must think i'm an IDIOT.

& with her..we're talking REALLY old fashioned..like..she thinks the fact that he kisses me is SOOOOO GROOOSSSS.

Btw - On my math final (I usually suck at math) I got an A-.

On all the other finals, I got B's or C+'s. Overall, got all A's & B's.
