Oh lordy Lynn! I really hope that all gets sorted out. If he's getting a paycheck you'd THINK they'd have those papers. Has he checked back with EVERY recruiter he had down there? I'm sure ONE of them has it. Somewhere!!!!

Hey everyone, Good to see some action again on the board!

Oh LynB, Wow, I think it's the "hurry up and wait" game. I didn't know about the walking on to BC for him. Poor guy. Seems a storm is over his head but I am sure like every storm a rainbow awaits and all will be just fine for him. : )) I think every one of our sailors has a story or two, maybe not to your sons, gosh, I still can't bleive the whole BC ordeal. We had pumpkin pie cheese cake this year. Hmmm I love cheeses cake but was never a fan of the pumpkin. My boys give me all the seeds and I make gormet flavors out of them. As for it in a pie, nah, not my thing. Now sweet potatoes, yummy... I'ld rather eat those than a regular potato. Don't think I ever ate it in a pie though. Not too big on cakes and pies and stuff. I'm a weirdo, don't even get into chocolate, always said I wasn't from here, hehe.

Yay Iris! Your back! Was begining to worry you lost interest here. H has alot on her plate it looks like. She's a go getter so I am sure she will get-er-done for Christmas leave. Seems she's working harder now than in BC, alot of stress. She's a strong girl just like her Momma, nothing stands in her way!

Thanks AJ for post for Iris, and yes it was a great surprise to have Matt home for TG. I really have a whole new respect for our military men and women. Even though my husband was in the Air Force (full time but reserves by the time we married) I was so young to understand it all. Now that my own child is in and probably a second of my kids also, it's given me alot of insite. Ok, I'm rambling, sorry.

Ok Mary, I just laughed my a-- off when I read about him falling in the pool. Sorry, I know he was ok cause you said he was but I did the sme thing last year in the middle of the winter. I was watering my plants around the pool and stepped back and felt nothing under my foot and I swear it happened all in slow mo, All at once I thought, oh S--t, this is not good, this is going to be cold (the water was 64o) As I am falling in hose and all. Let me tell you, I think I can walk on water!!! No sooner did I hit the water I swam to the swim-out ripped every piece of clothes off and was in standing there naked in the laundry room! Boy was I lucky no one was home, don't think my guys would have cared for that show! I bet your water was a heck of alot colder than mine was being there was ice on yours!!!! Tell him thanks, he made my day. : ))

nicole, your pictures are very nice. Was that just recently? I love the Islands. Always have a great time there when I go. Great snorkling there. Never dove with a bell, I think my boys call it Hooka diving. In my time that was a whole other meaning!

OOO - Hawaii. Now there's a good gig :-) Congrats to y'alls sailors on that!

Iris - my son's story is beyond silly, but suffice it to say last week they tried to find his records (ASVAB, Nuke tests scores, College degree, Top Secret clearance, etc, etc) as his XO wants to help push for him to go to OCS. Kid went to the records office and after talking to 6 different people, none of whom can find more than his entry/exit dates and high school records, actually got asked if:

1. He is spelling his own name correctly?
2. If he is SURE he's in the Navy?
3. Is he SURE he took the ASVAB?

He is in a records black hole that will probably end his Navy career. You remember his NRD sent him to Chicago on expired orders to arrive after the USO closed so he took a taxi to BC. Went to 3 gates before finding someone to let him walk in. Guard tracked down a Chief who basically said "what the h*** are you doing here? No one ever walks into boot camp on their own unannounced on expired orders".

The list of silly continues to great length. He was assigned 6 different recruiters in a one year period in Nashville which we surmise is the root problem. We're pretty sure he could walk out the door, never come back, and no one would notice. He might even still be paid! :-)

Iris - Yep, C has Hawaii also I believe, Pearl Harbor. Not sure for how long, but he gets flown out there, then leaves on deployment in January.

I'm back!!!!! And I just had a really pleasant surprise. Haley was online and we got to chat. Woo Hoo.... We have been scheduling Sunday chats each week, so this was a bonus. She's so close to being done but really worn out. She doesn't get but 3, 5 if she's lucky, hours of sleep each night and then spends most of her day, up to 12 hours on the computer doing her mods. She has like 30 more to go and 5 days to do them. She really wants to graduate and come home for the holidays and needs to be done no later than the 7th to do it. Every toe and finger I have is crossed for her. =) Okay ladies, send her good energy filled vibes! buzzzzzzz.........

So Good Morning Ladies. I've missed being on. I have no idea why it booted me. I tried the leave the group and rejoin and it didn't immediately work. But now, I'm back! =)

Thanks AJ for the offer of posting and posting the other day for me. You are as always, an angel. And a big, warm shout out to you too. Wat'z up - high five!

LynB - I had to laugh at your pumpkin pie fetish. I too suffer from a special love for pumpkin pie. I told my brother in law that if he wanted a ride to our Thanksgiving dinner, he had to pony up a delicious pumpkin pie. He made it that morning and ohhhhh.... Nelly, it was good. I saw what AJ wrote and what's going on with your sailor?

Nicole - yay, yay, yay... love the great photo's of your vacation. I bet you miss it! Who wouldn't. Haley is getting Hawaii for 3 years as her shore duty station. I have family member's lining up for visits. Lol..... Me being one of them.

Well, surprisingly that's all I have. My son and I are learning a lot about car repair. We are going to the auto store today to buy a special tool so we can pull the upper arm off his car. He sheared it off in the accident and it's one of the parts we have to replace. It's the blind leading the blind out there. LOL... I am not mechanically savy. But what a great bonding time for us. =)

Hope all of you have a great December 1st and don't panic at 24 more days till Christmas. I also hope you all get your Sailor's home for the Holiday.

Hugs to you all! Chat with you soon.
