For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I'm wondering if you are still unable to post .... and if so, I'm happy to post again for you ... just send it my way. Once, a month or so ago, I was not able to post either, as though I wasn't part of the group anymore. I asked to join the group again, and voila ... I was able to post again. I have been reading your son's latest impossible-to-believe next chapter over on the undesignated site. I don't even know what to say about such absurdity .... poor guy. It really makes you wonder. I hope this clears up for him very soon.

Comment by LynB on November 30, 2010 at 7:40pm: AJ - to answer your question, I have a confession. I didn't share my pumpkin after all but hoarded it like the greedy pumpkin pie lover I am. My daughter and her bf will be here from Christmas so I'm saving it for them :-) We made sweet potato pies instead which were delicious - although Aussies don't understand pumpkin or sweet potatoes as a sweet - they make soup and roast them but never make pie from them. They just don't know what they are missing!

We did, although we did miss having our little sailor at home! i'll be glad when xmas gets here and he can come home..... seems like forever since i've seen him and it was only about 2 1/2 months ago. ugh! I didn't do the black friday shopping......i'm too fond of my pillow for that. let me know what hot deals everyone got! hey, feel free to throw out cool gift ideas. i've been wracking my brain on what to get my mom (the woman who has everything)......keep in mind that i do have a budget! ha!
