Hi all - well we are having interesting weather here in the Pacific Northwest. It snowed last night and it is continuing today. Temps is around 30 degrees today, expect 18 tonight. Brrr.r......

AJ - so happy you son is doing so well. It's difficult to let them go after all the years of looking out for them. Hang in there, believe this is the best thing for him and continue to be happy for him. That will get you through. Hugs!!!

Mary - Lol... we can't predict when our spring will come. It can be a as late as August. So that would make it only 35 - 39 weeks. Groan! Need to move to where the sun shines more. =)

Well - Haley and I were on only a very short time. Neither of us had much to report. She is tired and looking forward to the end of training. She has 40 mods and 8 day to finish them. She's working her butt off trying to finish on time. Travis and she are doing well. They have settled into seeing each other on the weekend and taking a break from studies. Still no word on when exactly I'll be seeing her. I'll take whatever I can get. We will celebrate Christmas when she is here.

Today since it's so blasted cold out, we decided (Cody & I) to make cinnamon rolls. They are almost done and looking delicious. Probably have one of them with some cream cheese frosting and go take a nap. =) Oh, I might brew up a nice cup of coffee to go with it. Yummy!

Thanks for all the excitement about only 4 to go. The end is so near it really helps me get through each treatment. Plus having everyone home for Christmas will be so nice.

Well, I'm really tapped out of news, so unless you want me to just ramble on, I'll say adieu for now and chat with you all more later.

Hugs from cold and snowy ville! =)

God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say "thank you?" ~William A. Ward

Hey all - I am grateful - I talked with Aaron last night - while he joined his ship last Friday night, he was going to have his official check in this morning. He is happy and ready for what is to come. I guess I can't ask for much more than that ... a happy and strong son, eager for the journey.

Mary - that was today's good news so far! Only 18 weeks until Spring! We are cold and snowy in Colorado and it is going down to 3 degrees for a low on Thanksgiving. Now that is just too cold for me. Yesterday's best news of the day --- Iris only 4 to go! 4 .... 3.... 2 .... 1 .... NONE! And d o .... AND THEN THERE WERE NONE! Rejoicing!

Not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them, is the true measure of our thanksgiving. ~W.T. Purkiser

Hey - sorry pooped today so try to catch you all up tomorrow.

AJ - You are an amazing person and you are able to put what I think everyone feels here for Mrs. B into such beautiful, helpful, supportive, loving words. So Mrs. B - all I can say is ditto. What AJ wrote. we are here for you... hugs!!!

DO - YAY YAY YAY!! Congrat on the end of chemo. I have 4 more and that is really helping me make it through this. I don't know what I'd do with no end game. I actually have a friend who's mother has been battling cancer for two years. It metastasized all over, I'm not even sure where it originated, but she's in tough shape and still hanging in there. Unimaginable strength.

Any how, me and my chemo pump are off to bed.

Hugs to you all.

Iris

Mrs. B - I'm really sorry to hear about the emotional toll that everything is taking on you and your husband. Please do all that you can to pull yourselves up and through this difficult time. Like Mary said, it will be better once you are in San Diego and have settled into more of a working routine. Your life has been full of phenomenal change these past few months ..... so to the best of your ability ..... be gentle with yourself and with your hubby. Take delight in small things if you can't have the big things right now. Try not to let these Navy hurdles that you feel you are jumping over hijack you into a place of depression and suicidal tendencies. I'm very glad to hear that you are seeking professional help .... stick with it ..... and on those days that you feel overwhelmed ..... just look into those precious love-filled eyes of T.J. and vow to be the best that you can be for him.

I hope your parents are still coming up for Thanksgiving ..... that will help to feel their love and support so close, even if it is a short visit. The most wise advice I can offer you is the sage perspective from my grandmother .... and it is not new, but a put-to-the-test fact ..... This Too Shall Pass.

I'm glad you came on to let us know that you were in a difficult space. Hold onto all that you know is true ..... and anything that provides you nourishment, courage, faith, and hope. You will be in my prayers .... and do let us know how you are doing. Imagine your great-grandmothers and your favorite grandmother and your mother all embracing you now with a long, warm and loving hug that they understand what you are feeling. You are a strong one! With love and another hug from me .........

Mrs B - I'm sorry y'all are struggling and hope that the counseling helps you both through this very trying time. Hopefully when y'all have a chance to settle down together in one place for awhile things will improve.

We have our verbal orders to San Diego...we are hoping our written orders are the same. We've been assigned to the USS Bonhomme Richard and it's going to be in dry dock for at least 9 months while it is being fixed up. It just came in from a 7 month deployment. We have been told that the nine months it is in dry dock, it could be considered sea duty, so my husband may not be deployed for this first enlistment and we doubt we will enlist again. After all my husband isn't even a citizen of the USA and he wants to go back to England where he is from. We appreciate what the Navy has helped us with: money, but so far, everything besides the pay check has been a lie and we want out. It's ripping us apart and we've had major struggles...and being newly married and having a new baby and trying to juggle Navy life has stressed us out so much, we are both having to go to counseling for depression and suicidal tendencies. Prayers for us are greatly needed and appreciated. (Don't worry, we ARE getting help...professional help). Thanks everyone!

I'm doing the happy dance too! So glad you got some good news Iris. I've been out of pocket for the last week (managed to drag my husband on a much needed vacation which was a great success although sadly as the number on the scale showed this morning, we ate a little too well.)

Glad that everyone seems to have their spirits up. Thanksgiving in Australia is to no ones surprise, not nearly as much fun. We've got plans to have a feast with a bunch of Aussies on Saturday afternoon to fill them in on how to celebrate just being grateful for all that you have. Last year they looked puzzled, but realized what a cool thing it really is. Should be fun. I'm debating making a pumpkin pie for the two of us on Thursday with my last US made pie crust mix and cans of Libby's pumpkin which I've jealously hoarded for the past year :-) I'm bringing Jiffy corn casserole to the event on Saturday - Aussies are always amazed at any corn bread related dish!

Had a nice long Skype instant message chat with my kiddo this morning. He's just back from week long maneuvers in CA where apparently there was lots and lots of mud, digging of holes, and waiting around, but he got to fire a machine gun so that was fun. He's hanging in there and we're grateful that he has time off for Thanksgiving and friends to be with on the day.

Following AJs lead I'll say that I am thankful today for not having any serious issues happening in the lives of any of my family right now.

Y'all have fun!

Oh d o - wouldn't that be nice! I would love for you to be here! Sorry about the sister relationship - that's never easy. I'm so glad to hear that you guys are finished with the last chemo treatment - onward and upward from here, regaining body strength and vitality. YES!

Hi Mary - you look so good when you are doing the happy dance! :)

Hallelujah Iris!!!;) AJ I can't believe one of our PIR sailors is already on a ship. I'd give almost anything to spend Thanksgiving w/ you in Co. I know it will turn out better than you think. I have to go to my sister's-the one I don't like. I'd rather be w/ you.

PTL! We are done with interferon (chemo) as of last Thurs., just getting past the residue now.

I tried twice to get the photo to actually load here, but all it will give me is a link. It is just Calvin and Hobbes doing a happy dance. Oh well - I'm dancing for you!
