Aw, Happy Thanksgiving AJ! So nice you are having it this sunday. We will probably have it on Sunday the 14th if Matt can't get off to come home for the real deal. He has to report to Kings Bay on the 19th so he will leave early the 18th to get settled in. Still don't know what time he is coming in on Saturday. Ok, so sorry AJ, again, probably for the 10th time, where is A going afterwards?
Sorry, I also had head trauma and had a mini stroke right before Matt went into BC so I tend to forget things, just small thing, not like where I live or anything. I have to say all of you here at N4M's and the letter writting everyday to Matt while in BC was the best therapy for me. I get stuck sometimes but hey, it could always be worse. Good luck with your MRI, I will be praying for you.

Tea, soon Matt will be up by you! Yay! He was the only one in his class that received a welcome package from his assigned base. They seem on the ball there, I like that!

Iris, I am sure H is having the time of her life. We need to see pictures when you can. I gather our numbers anywhere didn't hit. I will play them again. I will not give up, they will hit! I sure hope you are ok with your Cemo. I've never had to have it but I know the side effects and I am sure they aren't fun.

Mrs. B, there is no excuse for anyone to speak to anyone with disrespect. Try to look pst the words and remarks and remember they are the ignorant ones. I feel bad about Thanksgiving and your hubby sailor on duty. But just think your parents will get to be with you and little TJ! He is so adorable!

Oh, AJ your A is so handsome! What a nice looking man, you should be so proud of him!

Hi Mary!
Hi Dl's mom!
Comment by AJ on November 4, 2010 at 2:27pm
Good Morning, Good Afternoon, and Good Night! (what movie was that from? I know - do you?) I thought I would throw all three in here since I haven't been on in a couple of days. It is a delight having A home. Life feels somewhat normal and good again and trying not to think about him leaving next Tuesday.

Wow - Mrs. B - I am astonished that Chiefs are calling you by such horrible and disrespectful names. There is no reason EVER for them to do that and it is unfortunate that you have had such a string of them. Sounds like you could use a hug - so ((((((((((((( you and TJ here ))))))))))). Sorry about the messed up Thanksgiving plans - and the only consolation I can offer is that at least you will see him a bit that day - and your parents will be so excited to see YOU and TJ. I know you are a strong lady - and as others have said - we are here.

Yes, Iris, I think we have some unanimous approval going on here about the Marine in H's life. As we all remember those first experiences, how cool is it that her memories will be of this handsome, kind, considerate, hunky, Marine. Lucky girl! And wow did we bomb on our lottery numbers!

Two more will have their Sailors with them this weekend! Hoo Yah! for Hurley and TeaParty! Have the best time - and oh my the time passes quickly. Savor every minute as I know you will - and post pictures!

Dyl's Mom - we have to find another way to have the Colorado ski lodge get together!

Mary - What a funny picture - and it does sounds like he is his mother's son. I have noticed that my son has adopted the 'mouth of a Sailor'. OMG, he used to cuss a little bit before, but wow, I have been shocked. Sorry about your step mom's use and abuse of the 's' word with you. You are such an endearing, funny, and warm person - I can't imagine. Give yourself a hug too!

We are having Thanksgiving dinner this Sunday. That should be fun. I hope to fake myself out with the whole idea so that when the real Thanksgiving is here, I can pretend that it has come and gone. I know that it is what we have in our hearts anyway and I am grateful for the time that I have with A now. I have to have an MRI on Sunday morning at 8:45, so send a little prayer please. A and I were in a car accident a while back and I had some brain trauma along with the other physical injuries and I'm still dealing with some stuff. I'm a bit worried, and hope that we find some answers but that it isn't anything horrible.

Back to you again Hurley - glad that you are feeling better and hope that you will be 100% for Saturday! I will be thinking of you.

So here is a picture of A in his NWUs - I have a better one, but his last name is so prominent on the shirt that I thought maybe I shouldn't post it here. Does anyone know if that is still a problem? He got a call from the recruiter's office and they want him to go help with a visit at a high school later today, so he will be wearing the NWUs again for that to show the class the new digis. I wish I could be a fly on the wall to hear what A shares with the group.

So, as Thanksgiving is this Sunday (ok - play along), I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! tee hee! Please know how grateful I am for each of you. Thank you for being here. Thank you for being you, each of you. My heart is fuller because of you. And, keep coming and keep posting. It still makes such a huge difference. Hugs to you all!

LOL! Iris, you are SO right. My huband is worried I'm gonna get myself in the hoosgow with my words... :) And trust me, I've told off a few Navy young men when they didn't respect me...haha! Well, you know? I just like it when men in general have respect for women and when they don't show it, I just get a little bit upset. haha...to say the least. And yeah, I've held my tongue so far except for the first chief, when I told him in no uncertain terms that he had NO right to call me that, that I'd only been a Navy wife for 4 weeks and he should take back what he said. Of course, he didn't do anything...just turned real red in the face and stalked off. :) But I'm doing better today...just needed to vent! Thanks so much!!!!

Morning Ladies - Well unfortunately we are not millionaires this morning. A moment of silence for our loss....=) The winning numbers were 34, 38, 39, 45, 50 and Powerball 33. We should of used our ages instead...lol...

Mrs. B - it's perfectly okay to vent. That is one of the things we provide here. I have to say, you strike me as a little firecracker (in a good way) and those Navy Chiefs might want to start being nicer if they don't want a good tongue lashing from you. =) Hang in there and vent anytime you need it. =))))

Teaparty!!! - we have missed you. Luckily I see you on FB with your daily inspirational quotes. Have fun with your sailor this weekend. I'm jealous. If you see H. give her a hug for me. She'll be the one with the permanent smile on her face and a handsome, 6' Marine on her arm.

Dyl's Mom - Lol... I agree. Who isn't in love with this guy. He sounds pretty darn good to me and I told her that he is welcome to visit us anytime.

Hurley - so glad you are starting to mend but sad that it has spread to your husband. Take it easy and get better soon. And yay you get your son this weekend. Enjoy every minute and be sure to share. =))))

Mary - Oh the picture says it all. Lol.. well what do you expect, you are a fun loving mom, so of course your kids are going to pick up on that and have a bit of fun too. =) I'm glad he and his friend are able to still be close. What great support, although not a "this might not be a smart thing to do" warning bell between them. This was me at that age. I don't know how I made it without serious damage or even alive. Glad eventually the brain finds it's warning bell. I'm sure he won't care what he sleeps on as long as you feed him and pamper him while he's home. =)

Not much happening here. Just waiting for my neuropathy to go away so I can get back on to my full dose of cancer killing drugs. My doctor thinks after this next treatment things will start to improve and I can resume. Mixed emotions on that, but I guess... yay? Lol...

Have a great day today! Hugs from dry but foggy and chilly Oregon.

Okay, haven't been on in a while - busy life with funerals & weddings, but hopefully that is over for now.
Anyway, rec'd my dvd and sent to my mom so she could watch. Did anyone receive the keel? I thought our sailors would receive it, too. Gotta look up some more info on that when I find time.
Well, my good news is that we are leaving in the morning to go to Pensacola to take our sailor's truck to him. We have all weekend with him at the beach. His sis isn't able to go and I was going to go and then fly back by myself, but husband decided the church could do without him another wknd so we are taking my car since it gets 35 mpg on the road!

I'll talk to you ladies, later! Have a good wknd!

well, this is awful! My husband just informed that he has duty on Thanksgiving day and my parents are coming all the way from Texas to see him and the baby JUST for that day. They are coming in on Thanksgiving day and leaving early Friday morning at 6 am. I am SO mad! The Navy seems to enjoy torturing my family with their stupidity and insetivity. I'm sorry, I'm just really upset and have to vent somewhere. :( The Navy has just kept messing us up in SO many ways...and I think I wear a sign on me that tells Chiefs to call me a bitch and stupid...I've had THREE of them so far. :( And it was all for no good reason. I was in the NEX and accidently bumped into one when I came around a blind corner...and then another one said it at the VC when I was trying to work on some paper work and then the other one called me stupid when I was at the pediatricians office. I've just really had it with the people on base at times, when they are SO disrespectful to me. I'm a military wife and I have a hard job. I don't appreciate how they are treating my husband and I. I'm sorry, I'm just overwhelmed and needed to vent somewhere...please don't take this wrong. I appreciate our military people and what they are doing for our country...and the Navy has done a lot for us and has given us TONS of help and even blessed us with a 10 day leave when our sweet TJ was born. I'm not trying to down them, it just gets very frustrating when there is so little respect for women.

Hi all, thanks Iris, I am a bit better. Even my husbaand didn't go to work yesterday and he never misses for being ill. Hate this darn cold!

Mary I love this picture. So funny! I got mine too, now someone has to win!

Matt graduates Friday, not going though. He'll be home saturday night. He has to stay in a hotel (on base) because they kick their A--es out after graduation. He'll be so happy to be home. He h as to be at Kings Bay GA on the 19th of November, just before thanksgiving. Oh well. Maybe he'll have off and can drive down for the day and go back up that night. Still don't know details yet.

Hope all is well with everyone!

Morning Ladies!!!

Corie - thanks, that sounds exciting for your boyfriend. He will be right in there with the marines I take it. Scary for you.

AJ - thanks for the info. I passed it on to H. so she might get some of her possible 3 weeks back. We have lots planned, but during chemo week she might want to do more than watch me sleep. Lol.... oh, so exciting. =) So happy you have your son with you. I don't have to tell you to enjoy it, I'm sure it's like breathing, you can't help yourself. =))))))

Hurley - glad you are feeling a bit better. Keep that up and get well soon. Nice that you had a call from your Sailor. Those always cheer us up. As far as the family goes, I am going to try to stay out of it and hope everyone will take the high road and make an effort welcoming someone new into the family. Ironically if Lorrie (my husband's mom) was still alive there wouldn't be an issue. She was the most loving and generous person I've ever met. That is probably part of the problem, Stephanie has never had any children or much of a family life so she is kind of unsure how to interact with them. She's very direct, which I appreciate, but some do not. Anyhow, the family will survive this drama and hopefully they will all understand the happiness she is bringing to their dad.

Dyl's Mom - Even if Dylan can't do the program, you get him for Christmas... Yay, yay, yay!!!! Sorry you are sad today. It is tough when you can't be there for things you are so use to doing. H. had her bday the day after we left her after graduation and I understand how you feel. Empty. So tough when they grow up, yet you have to feel happy that they are doing so well in their new adult life. Keep telling yourself that, it does help. Hugs to you and maybe have a cupcake in his honor of his bday. =)

Okay - the boyfriend is a real charmer. H. said they were discussing what happens after she leaves for Hawaii and if he doesn't get stationed there. He told her he wanted her to find herself a man better than him, cause she deserved the best. Now that's either the best line ever or he's just a super sweetheart and in my book, a keeper. Lol.... H. said they are taking things slow. It's her first bf and his second gf, so it kind of puts them in the same inexperienced group. She is silly happy. I'm so glad we can skype and I can share this with her. Very cool. Anyhow, I have invited him to come with her or arrive later for a visit when they have Xmas leave. And I told her if she wanted to spend a week there, that is fine too. I know how important first loves can be, so I'm trying to let her decide how she wants to spend her leave. Of course, without giving up at least a week with her. Sheesh... I'm nice but not crazy. Lol....

Well, that's all I have. She giggled alot and told me they were kissing and snuggling and that she felt safe. That's good enough for me.

Hope everyone has their winning lotto ticket. I got mine and tonight we'll see how many winners we have. Please report in. I'm thinking big.... =)

Have a happy Wednesday one and all. Now that the election is over, you can go back to answering your phone and watching TV. I felt that our political atmosphere is just dirty and corrupt anymore. Time to clean house and vote third party. Wouldn't that shake the establish Hatfields and McCoy's up!!! Woo Hoo.. that's just how I roll.

Okay, Hugs to all.

Hi Ladies! Glad to see everyone is doing ok! Sounds like all our sailors are doing great! that is so awesome! I was reading on the GL A School site that the sailors can do the RAP program as long as they've completed their A school. When Dylan comes home for xmas, he still won't be done with A school so they'll ding him for all his time. Hopefully he'll be able to use the program prior to going to the fleet. Today is his birthday and it just feels so lonely having to tell him happy bday on the phone :( this year for me will be alot like Mrs. B's.... the year of firsts! instead of first word, step, smile, it's been first call home, first letter, first holiday away.... watching my baby grow up!
oh by the way Mrs. B, my 15 year old had to do a project for school where he writes a page for every year of his life.... my comments in his baby book helped out sooo much, not to mention brought back many fond memories! Write down as much as you can, no matter how insignificant it may seem! you'll cherish it 20 years down the road!!
