Yes, my hubby is also volunteering at the recruiting office for a couple of days so he can get his 5 days leave added onto his 3 weeks "moving leave"... his chief called him DURING boot camp to tell him that. Yes, I was TOTALLY jealous when I found out that his chief could just pick up the phone and call my husband while in boot camp and that the RDC's would let him talk to my hubby. But he also had to talk to him about our banking, so it was a two fold thing.

Hi all, hope ll is well for everyone. I'm feeling a bit better today.

Matt just called me and said he talked to his recruiter and he is doing that program when he comes home too. You get your leave days back for volunteering. So happy AJ that you have your sailor with you right now. I am so excited about Matt coming home maybe even Friday after graduation but at this point saturday is fine too. I've been getting his old room ready for him. His brother had it for quite a few years but he moved out so now Matt has it for when he comes home. Ha, full circle.

Iris, sorry about the awkwardness you endured with your husbands family. I guess not everyone are ready to move on.

Yeah we have our lotto numbers!

Oh and camo digis don't go in the dryer. I didn't have to learn the hard way - A told me. But just in case you don't know - no dryer for those to not break down the flame retardant properties.

For those of you who did this, remember buying non-flame retardant clothing items so our little ones wouldn't have those chemicals against their precious skin. Guess those days are gone. Flame retardant clothing now baby!

Hello!! Not enough time to respond to all of you even though I want to right now. But, I did want to share an important piece of information. There is a program called RAP (Recruiter Assistance Program) that your Sailor can take advantage of if he/she wants to. For those of you who don't already know about it, it is a program that offers a Sailor the opportunity to volunteer time at their local recruiting office when they are home on leave. It seems to be 5 days of time takes 5 days off of your leave (must be 5 it seems). In A's case, he has 10 days of leave, so if he volunteers 5 days at the recruiting office, he is only marked as 5 days of leave.

I can tell you that there is a bit of a sense of "wow - what do I do with all this time" in being free from the demands of boot camp and then A school. They are so used to being up early and pushing hard all day that it is kind of strange for them, no matter how wonderful it is to be home. To have a chance to talk with the Chief, etc. at the local office was very welcome. A talked with them today and they enthusiastically want him to go in tomorrow. And, get this, the Chief at this office said that by just coming in for a bit tomorrow to talk with them, they will sign off on his 'something-13' paperwork (sorry that is all I've gotten for a name) .... and he will get 5 days back by just visiting their office ... and he doesn't have to do 5 days. So, ladies, have your Sailors check this option out. The fact that this Chief isn't making A do the full 5 may be situation and Chief specific, but still, it is nice to know that 5 for 5 is out there.

I got my lottery tickets today. One for PowerBall and one for the state lottery too. Let's win some money!!!

I'll be back later. I have some Navy laundry to do. Coveralls, camo, and a trip to the dry cleaners in my future for dress blues.

Iris- FMF is Fleet Marine Force. This is what my bf will be when he is done with FMTB and that is Field Medical Training Battalion. He is a HM Corpsman aka Military Medic and after A school he will do another 8 week like boot camp with the Marines.

I will type more tomorrow because I don't have a lot this morning. I'm excited to chat with H. tonight so the day could just speed by and I wouldn't mind. Yesterday with my husbands family and the new girlfriend went well. Still some in the family that aren't ready for him to have a girlfriend and resent it, but I think things will be okay in time. When you loose your mother it's difficult and it has just been a year. Today would of been her birthday. So many emotions running through everyone yesterday when we gathered to remember her. I could see their pain and would love to be able to make it go away, but sadly I can't do that.

Anyhow, all in all it was a happy day together. We did a lot of laughing and chatting. Cody brought his girlfriend Katie and we had fun tormenting them. There was lots of great food, fortunately everyone are outstanding cooks. And my peanut butter rice crispies with butterscotch & chocolate topping was a huge success. Apparently this was one of the desserts their mom use to make and they all loved it. That was good. =)

Mrs. B - good morning. So glad you popped over to say hi. Sounds like a great plan you guys have for GL. I'd hate to move in the winter there. Ewwww.... Especially with the little one. Keep hanging in there and smile. You have a beautiful healthy baby and a wonderful husband that loves you. Life is gooooooooodddd!!! =) Hugs to you.

DO - Wow! Congrats to your son and you. And thanks for the lottery number to round out our lucky numbers. =)))

Corie - Morning! Glad you get to see your boyfriend in two weeks. Yay!!! I bet you are excited. What's FMF? And thanks for the number. We are ready to win now. =)))))

Well ladies I will have much more later for you in the juicy (hopefully) saga of my daughter's romance with her Marine. Lol...

Have a great Monday everyone and Hugs from soggy, foggy Oregon. =)

Hello Ladies!

just stopping in to say hello...life is tiring with a new born in my life, but I'm trying to keep up on FB...I seem to forget to come here...so sorry!

My hubby got 10 days paid leave for the baby's birth, so he won't be graduating as early as he would have been. So we'll be in GL for at least 2 more months. And then he is going to ask for temporary duty for GL's so that way we can wait out the winter months before having to move.

Hope you all are doing well!

Blessings~

My sailor likes San Diego so much he is signing up for another 2 years for more training and higher rank! He'll be a petty officer. I just got his dvd yesterday, and he's already signing up for more. He's enjoying his school and will graduate in Dec.

H.B. to the sailors, congratulations to the mom's that are with them, good luck to the lotto players, love and prayers to the sick, safe travels to the ones that are coming and going, happy job hunting to the seeking - and God bless us everyone! I know for sure that God loves me and helps me when I need it! (which is usually always)

P.S. try 23

number 5 its my bf's favorite so maybe we'll be lucky. Glad to hear that everything is going good with everyone, glad to see that some of us are getting to see the sailors. I get to see my BF in 2 weeks I'm driving up to GL for the weekend. We are both really excited and he has Phase 2, this is the last time I get to see him before he graduates A school and then I get to see him for a few days before he goes FMF. Have a wonderful day!
